Not-so-BREAKING: I am sad to say that most of us are going to be dead in the next 10 - 20 years. Including many GLPers.
After reviewing world events, natural disasters, disturbed weather patterns, human consciousness, and temperment, I have come to the conclusion that Stephen Hawking is right.

Within the next 10 - 20 years, most of us will be dead. It's not the end of the world, or humanity. It'll just be an incredible downsizing. To put it into business speak, many of us will be "laid off".

You want evidence? Look around. We're always a second off from blowing our shit up, dumping too much shit into the atmosphere, and if you knew how close we kept coming BEFORE 9/11, you would never sleep at night.

I heard constant stories from my best friend's dad, told to his buddies over beer. Work buddies. They worked at nuclear power plants in TEXAS.

He talked daily about how close some idiot working on the plant came to causing a meltdown, or confirmed radiation leaks that the entire plant had to scrub down because of.

Look at the central area of North America. It's in the worst drought since the dust bowl. Meanwhile we're a hair away from another Katrina in the south, and the gulf of Mexico is fucked by oil.

Look at the sun. Skin cancer rates, hell cancer rates over all are up.

Meanwhile we live on a planet that's 80% water, with only 10% drinkable and we're slowly dwindling that 10% with every single fuck up whether it be industrial waste, construction, or just flat out waste.

Look at our food. We should be able to sustain ourselves. Did you know that 10 billion pounds of fresh fruits and vegetables are thrown away daily in the united states? That stealing these fruits and vegetables from the dumpster can get you fined into the 5-digits or jailed for years if caught?

Look at our government. We keep giving full control of our nuclear arsenal to IDIOTS, while meanwhile China is making the computer chips that guide our nuclear arsenal with back doors that allow them to control it.

Meanwhile the animal life forms are changing. Bacteria, viruses, things we cannot resist are rising. Maybe by design, maybe by chance. We are constantly one hungover 20 year old lab tech's fumble from wiping out half of humanity.

IQ is decreasing over all while intelligence is rising only for a small portion of humanity.

We will lose 90% of humanity within the next 10 - 20 years.

This is not a conspiracy theory, this is a conspiracy fact.

Take comfort in knowing that as Ian Malcom in Jurassic Park said "Life will find a way". It may not be pretty, it may not be perfect, but in some form a small portion of humanity will live on.

Why am I posting this? Because I think that a small portion of the intelligent here at GLP should stop working on Prevention, and start working on Legacy.

What can we leave behind for whatever survives the coming holocaust? How can we make their lives easier?

We have the seed vaults, we (GLP specifically) has an observatory. But we need more.

Use what influence you have at work, or school, or home to find ways to work on our legacy, what we can teach the next phase of humanity. They will see our mistakes. What can we tell them of our successes?

Well, I saw a thread the other day where a scienist was saying he believes we are 20 years away from immortality.

If that truly is the case, and we will be living 2-3 times, maybe even 20 times longer, the elite will want to dwindle the population down. Can't really have 8 billion immortal beings breeding.

If we find the source of immortality, it will be controlled by the elite few. However, space exploration will again become a possibility.

Theoretically immortality will come from mapping the human genome, and taking out the imperfections with genetic engineering (thus making our offspring, not us, immortal), replicating the brain including memory as AI, or nano-technology with a focus on creating cyborgs.

Death is a ceasing of organs resulting in "brain death". Taking organic organs out of the equation...well... the problem with that is replacing the organs, you'd have to replace the veins. You'd need a way to circulate and oxygenate the blood to keep the brain saturated in it.

We'd need to come up with a chemical way of preserving the brain without diminishing the synapses, and a mechanical way of remaining mobile.

I'd say 30 - 50 years to BEGIN on this technology.

Maybe, the scientist who made the statement was not a pseudo scientist, he is a well respected man in his field. I forget his name, but I am sure you could find it using search.

But either way, lets say 30-50 years out. They would still want to cut the population by at least 60-75%

I don't know, I think that is an impossible question to answer. Plus, I don't think ET's really help us out like some think. I believe more in the zoo theory, or Jungle theory. They either just observe us like zoo animals...or they don't even care to contact us because we are not worthy, or couldn't possibly understand them and their technology.

Sure. This is from the last time I posted it, I keep it saved so I don't have to keep retelling it:

The only clear memory was that they showed me the Earth from above. They showed me that above every city there are these HUUUUGE ships that smaller ships are constantly coming in and out of. They're not in our universe but they're close enough that they can see ours as if through a one way mirror.

There are all of these gates within those huge ships, above like every city and that's where the ships come in and out of. It's why when you see UFO footage the ships will suddenly vanish as if they just went into something. It's those huge ships and their gates they went into.

They also showed me how everyone is connected to each other, not only that... that we're connected to the Earth. That even the electrical grid that powers our technology is connected to us. They also showed me how the planet is slowly going dark in some places.

That's my only clear memory. The sky is constantly full of them, they all view us as if through a one way mirror and they are all constantly here, they are all constantly moving to and fro. Busy as can be.

Easy to answer:

For 100 bushels of wheat you had to work:

up to 1900: 373 hours
after 1900 (steel plow+cows/horses): 112 hours
Today (machine): 18 hours

Now take cheap oil and cheap fertilizer out, account that todays livestock is not able to pull plows as they were raised for milk or sports (horses)

Oh . i forgot .. today there is only hybrid seed left.

The 500 million number from the guidestones actually is pretty accurate, a bit to high for the first century after the crash though.

Humanity is lucky if 100 million are still alive after the crash .. there have been worse percentage reductions in head-counts in past civilizations collapses.

Ancient rome: From ap. over a million down to 40.000 herding goats in the ruins, that`s ap. 2500% in ermm.. negative population growth.

7 billion to 100 million would be 7000% percent which is very realistic in a 4rd world scenario, not to mention the romans had no wmd`s and left us not with megatons of radioactive and chemical crap.

4rd world ?

Yup .. at least the 3rd world knows how to live without fuel, just in time supply lines and electricity.

I've been abducted. There's the ones that treat you like cattle, and the ones that teach you like children.

I was more referring to the former. I was abducted by the latter.

You know that kind old lady that when you accidentally broke her window playing baseball or something instead of trying to kick your ass, would invite you in for tea and tell you about her husband's baseball days, or ask you to please be more mindful in the future?

It's kinda like that. They live on Earth, just not in this dimension of it.

What do they look like.

And by "they live on earth just not in this dimension of it" do you mean they are on a different plane? Or just not corrupted by our world?

Not sure how it works, but they are corrupted by what we're doing on "our side of the looking glass", also, they look kinda like greys, except they're dove white and very friendly, very pacifist.
