Then my friend texts me and got off work early because they lost power. This is in Los Angeles could be a west coast target.

I don't live in Los Angeles, but in Paris area.. I've noticed exactly the same thing. I was laying in my lounge, jsut looking at the ceiling and thinking. The room was in darkness, and there was a light flash, coming from the bulb. It was like a pulsation, about one light flash / 30 seconds.

Maybe it's something very common, but never noticed before!
