I'm thinking Syria will be firmly under Sunni Jihadist control before the attack on Iran begins.
Russia & China are very alarmed by this US backed Sunni Jihadist monopoly forming in the Middle East. It will spread beyond Iran, into India...and farther. Some of these countries have nukes that Sunnis may turn toward Russia or China. It could be that Russia/China launches an attack on the west to stop this monopoly...WW3. Apparently, Obama is convinced they won't.
