Tonight we’ll move on to Aquila and look at the hot central star of an interesting planetary nebula – NGC 6804 (Right Ascension: 19 : 31.6 – Declination: +09 : 13). You’ll find it almost 4 degrees due west of Altair. Discovered by Herschel and classed as open cluster H VI.38, it wasn’t until Pease took a closer look that its planetary nature was discovered. Interacting with clouds of interstellar dust and gases, NGC 6804 is a planetary in decline, with its outer shell around magnitude 12 and the central star at about magnitude 13.

While only larger telescopes will get a glimpse of the central, it’s one of the hottest objects in space – with temperatures around 30,000K!

Newfoundland braces for Tropical Storm Leslie

ST. JOHN'S, Newfoundland — Canada's east coast is bracing for the arrival of Tropical Storm Leslie, which is expected to make landfall Tuesday in Newfoundland, the Canadian Hurricane Centre said Monday.

The center said Leslie could make landfall as a hurricane or a strong tropical storm.

Robichaud said Leslie is gaining strength as it moves over warm waters, but its massive size may prevent it from reaching hurricane status.

"If it was a smaller storm, there would most definitely be strengthening and we'd almost certainly have a hurricane at landfall," he said. "But given the size of the storm, it takes a lot more to spin it up."

The nasty weather hit Atlantic Canada before Leslie's anticipated arrival.

Evacuation orders have already been issued for Truro, Nova Scotia, where sheets of heavy rain have swamped two rivers, leading to flooding and evacuations in Colchester County.

He said a high school near Salmon River was evacuated before lunchtime as a precaution.

Far out in the Atlantic, Hurricane Michael was forecast to weaken to a tropical storm by Tuesday.

Sunbaking seal who stopped traffic in Middle Park is taken back out to sea at Queenscliff

The bold bull spent two nights recuperating at Melbourne Zoo after he was found disorientated and exhausted on Beaconsfield Parade following wild weather late last week.

Police initially herded the seal back into the bay early Saturday morning, but he returned hours later and was found sunning himself near the busy cycling route.
