BREAKING : Olympics Archery Causes Ticket Confusion
Dozens of fans have been turned away from one of the first Olympics events due to confusion over tickets.

Spectators arrived at Lords for the first London-based action of the Olympics - the men's archery ranking round.

The event was - according to tradition - held behind closed doors but it was listed as an un-ticketed event, leading some members of the public to believe it meant you could attend without a ticket.

There are other non-ticketed events, such as the cycling road race, which allow fans to catch a glimpse of the Games for free but today stewards had to turn prospective spectators away.

It is thought up to 50 people had tried to get in - after illegal websites had suggested it was possible - with some quing from early in the morning.

A LOCOG spokeswoman said: "Tickets have not been advertised or sold by LOCOG for the archery ranking event which starts today at Lord's cricket ground. We have always made it clear that the preliminary rounds are not open for spectators.

"There are a number of unofficial websites claiming to sell tickets, we therefore advise people to be extremely cautious and vigilant when attempting to buy tickets and only purchase from an official source.
