anyone else notice the disconnect at the opening ceremonies

I remember watching these as a kid where everyone walked in with their arms around each other and smiling laughing. Everyone seemed so stiff or disconnected.....I saw one her walking in by herself looking down at her phone and tweeting or something. Seriously....you have the opportuinity to be in the opening ceramonies of the olympics and your staring at your phone????
