Plant-based vaccines, however, are developed using “virus-like particles,” which consist solely of protein and are non-infectious.
They can’t spread between people, and they help produce anti-viral antibodies.

To produce the particles, scientists synthesize the DNA of the flu virus, combine the flu DNA with bacteria, and then soak the plants with it.
After soaking for a few minutes, the plants then start producing the flu-fighting particles. The DNA stays in the plant.
The protein is then extracted and becomes the basis for a vaccine.

The most popular plant? Tobacco, as it grows relatively fast. The U.S. is also estimated to produce a heaping 450 metric tons of tobacco per year.
And the whole process of turning tobacco into vaccines only takes a matter of weeks to complete.

I can understand why tobacco plants might be used to combat the flu, as there are studies where smokers benefited during the 1918 flu pandemic.

However, what worries me is how flu shots are currently mass-produced and makes me wonder how growth is accelerated using tobacco as currently they use viruses and tumor cells.

I know they attribute lives saved since the development of vaccines, but all this tampering around with cells--from animals, tumors and whatever--starts out as experimental.

We end up being the guinea pigs and it has made a mess out of what use to be normal, healthy individuals who could

Each of these biological properties must be considered and evaluated for each cell substrate.The oncogenic risk of cell substrate DNA has been considered to be due to several mechanisms.

First, the residual DNA could have dominant activated oncogenes that could exert their effect following expression in recipient cells. In the case of Ad5-transformed cells,the dominant oncogenes would include the E1A and E1B genes.

Second, the incoming DNA could integrate into the host genome in certain genes, such as the p53 gene or the retinoblastoma susceptibility (RB) gene, termed tumor suppressor genes, which are involved in cell cycle control among other cellular processes.

Loss of function of tumor suppressor genes has been associated with certain human tumors. Third, integration of residual cell-substrate DNA could result in the activation of cellular regulatory genes by promoter/enhancer insertion, and this could result in the development of a neoplastic phenotype;
this mechanism for tumor development was initially described in chickens for leukemia formation by avian leukosis viruses.

I've never had a flu shot, haven't seen a doctor in nearly 20 years. I was hoping it would stay that way, but Obamacare just through a monkey wrench into the plans I have made for my life.

First and foremost, I give God all the glory for taking care of me, especially since my husband passed away 7 years ago.

And I thank Him for teaching me and correcting me when I do wrong.
