That is one plausible scenario and we can see evidence of that now. People are making due with less and they have greater financial strain than ever--being squeezed slowly like by a boa constrictor. I don't think we'll keep slowly unwinding. I think at some point there's going to be an event that will move us from this long, slow, grind down into a sudden death spiral.

These days now will look great by comparison. We need to be ready.
