Consider the possibility that you order yourself into being from chaos... You do this, always, in all ways. This "ordering" has resulted in the possibilities you're experiencing, here, now. In each experience you've ever had, more and more of "this" reality is generated logically from your previous experience. Your observation of this unfolding of order and chaos is reality. |

Since it's in the Constitution, presumably a later legislature could reclaim those rights to advise and consent. But it would have to overcome cloture in the Senate, etc. Traitors. (Lieberman and traitor in the same sentence is redundant.) |

What does it matter? Quoting: Anonymous Coward 12339688 If the House actually represented the people, would we have had bank bailouts? That..... They don't work for the people. The government is it's own entity and doesn't need our consent or permission to make decisions. Once everybody started turning to the government to fix their problems, we lost. Now if something goes wrong, you ask the president to fix it. Build your house next to the river, and it it floods...ask the government to help you. Government, ridding people of personal responsibility since 1962. Last Edited by FatalW1shes on 08/03/2012 06:16 PM |

If Americans had voted the banks would have been fixing their own damn problems. |

It will be more like Canada, where the Senate is non-elected and non-responsible. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 20577767 Americans aren't seeing anything resembling responsible inside our Senate currently and they vote for things that imply they were not elected officals. LOL House isn't much better, sometimes it's worse. Whatever would make these legislators to weaken their power to advise and consent, it shows deep rot in Washington. |

The checks and balances of the Executive, Legislative and Judicial branches of government are being eroded away. Now the president has all of the power... The US Government has access to too much power to be in the control of a single human being. This is 1933 all over again folks. I dont mean everything I say to be literal. I just like to throw around ideas, and play devil's advocate. I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use. -Galileo Galilei |

No suprise there. They can now appoint who ever the hell they like without oversight. Totally corrupt and the act of a totally corrupt leadership. Trust me when I say, America is seriously one fucked up leadership IMO which will lead to the demise of billions. Trust was put into America by the world and the Americans have let people down. Americans may not like what I say but unfortunately its true amd history will prove it to be true. If there is a history. |

The House of Representatives is set to consider legislation Tuesday that would exempt certain presidential appointees from having to be confirmed by the Senate. Quoting: Laura Bow UPDATE: The House passed the legislation Tuesday night by a vote of 261-116. The bill now goes to President Obama’s desk for his signature. More at [link to libertycrier.com] By a vote of 261-116, the House of Representatives passed a bill rewriting Article II of the Constitution and divesting the Senate of the power to accept or reject the appointment of many presidential nominees. Last year, the Senate passed the measure by a vote of 79-20, so it now goes to the desk of President Obama for his signature. "Important positions will be filled faster, government agencies will be more capable of offering valuable services to their constituents, and the overall confirmation process will be more efficient,” said Senator Joseph Lieberman (I-Conn.), chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. Dozens of key management positions in the Departments of Agriculture, Defense, Commerce, and Homeland Security (including the treasurer of the United States, the deputy administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration, the director of the Office for Domestic Preparedness, and the assistant administrator of FEMA) will now be filled by presidential edict, without the need of the “advice and consent” of the Senate, a phrase specifically removed from the process in the text of the bill. Although the House vote occurred on Tuesday, the Senate voted to surrender its constitutional check on the executive over a year ago on June 29, 2011. Despite a last-minute attempt by some House leaders to put the measure to a voice vote, thus allowing members to vote in favor of the legislation without being listed on the record, a roll call vote was taken, and the name of every congressman who voted to unconstitutionally neuter the legislative branch is listed.
