"Many people avoided the beach after the mucky black sand left its mark on the bottom of their feet.

“It showed up after the rough surf the night before and changed the sand complexion. It’s not something we see every day, so there was alarm at first,” Buckson said. “It caused people to shy away from [the beach] because they didn’t want that type of dirt on them. It made your feet look like you were walking on mud.”"



U of Del. expert claims that it is not oil but minerals. Could this be Gulf Oil/ Corexit related ?
