Ruger Mini 14 or SKS - which to grab first when the SHTF?

I love the SKS, have 2 of them, but the Mini 14 is a better rifle. Better iron sights, easier to mount optics on, and the action is certainly combat worthy as it is the same design as the the venerable M1A/M14 which is still in use by our military today.
