Tuesday afternoon, from a boat on Bayou Corne, where a Crosstex pipeline crosses the troubled waterway, the chemical stench was so strong, it felt like it was tasted, according to Deborah Dupré, two other passengers and the pilot of the boat.

“At first, I though it was diesel,” the boat pilot said, preferring to remain unnamed. “It also smells like asphalt or tar, what we put on houses when we put the roof on.”

The others on the boat agreed that the foul chemical was so “thick” and strong, they felt they were “tasting” it.

Delena Winans and her neighbors say they woke up to "at least 10 to 15 explosions." Flames shot through the roof of Monolyte Laboratories.

Within minutes of the explosion, the plant which makes polymer to separate solids from liquids in the waste water treatment process was covered in flames. Slaughter, LA Fire Chief David Hughes says he has never seen anything quite like it. "Flames extended from every facet of the building," he said.

Is that area of water around the storage tanks new? Haven't kept up for a while. Also is it just a trick of light or is the main sinkhole covered in more sheen than usual?

Texas Brine Co. is to submit a plan to Louisiana's Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Saturday to permanently plug its vent well that is leaking hydrogen sulfide gas near the Assumption Parish sinkhole, according to company officials Wednesday.

Officials discovered that one of Texas Brine's two wells was letting hydrogen sulfide gas escape, Texas Brine officials said Wednesday.

An event occurred at the sinkhole around 11:30 pm today which is being considered as a “burp”. Vegetative debris and hydrocarbons came up from below the sinkhole

watching the latest videos gave me the creeps, they could add some "tic-toc-tic-toc" sound into it while there editing them.... how much worse can it get before whatever has to happen eventually will happen.....

A friend of mine is in touch with Erin Brockovich's office and she sent me this information.
"Please have everyone in immediate evac area call Christopher Levinson at 818-991-8900. They are scheduling a town hall meeting for Saturday with experts and sinkhole info and more."
They have an environmental expert who is going to send her an email with more info. Will post it when I get it.
