so from a 50 year old video editor's point of view. there was no CGI in the 60's.
and if we did not go to the moon...how did NASA come up with pictures of the earth....unless you are going to say there is no space programs and all is faked!
look back at how cheesy the SFX were back in the late 60's...and it was not till the late 70's that they even begin to look real.
green screen and blue screen did not work so well when all editing was done film to film. most of the SCIFI SFX were done with models and the give away was always gravity....things in the models always were effected by gravity.

so how and why would Hollywood sit on movie tech to make cool CGI graphics for over a decade?
and the creating of the whole rotating earth...without ever seeing it...not once....wow i find these things harder to believe then going to the moon.
