if it was that easy to go to the moon why didn't the russians or chinese do it?

The Chinese have only recently gotten to space. Without Russians and their well known rocket technology you and your astromauts would be sitting at home today staring at the stars, or watching Star-trek dreaming how to build warp  O FFS why do you even bother?  Does wernher von braun sound Russian to you?
