Considering it must have been an experience completely different from everything else in his life that doesn't sound so odd.  watch any of the astro-not videos with a keen eye, you can HEAR the code words and attempts to 'not lie' . the apollo 11 press conference is full them they dont talk about their mission - armstrong calls it a 'great adventure'. says that the surface of the moon is like earth. when in LEO and pretending to see an 'earth' shot through the window, he is asked what the earth looks like - and he says 'you see pretty much what we see' Listen to how they answer the press conference questions, never a straight answer So your private and personal interpretation of what people said (in a foreign language no less) outweighs the ridiculously vast amount of evidence for Apollo? Go pull the other one.
