The RNC chief blasted Obama, “This President stole $700 billion from Medicare to fund Obamacare… If anyone in this debate has blood on his hands in regard to Medicare it’s Barack Obama.” Quoting: Anonymous Coward 8737180 [link to www.youtube.com] [link to www.thegatewaypundit.com] Hm, that's a good argument. With that and the Ryan pick, I think Romney is doing OK now in convincing people like me that he won't be another Obama. Which is a good thing. Medicare money was for old folks. Someday I know I'll be old, so I want it all there. |

IF we can make him leave office without the US military prying his socialist ass out of the Oval Office, he will be gifting moneys to his political buddies and granting amnesty for his Chicago criminal pals. Obama will be like an African dictator destroying everything he can before he's run out of office. . |

And obviously from the remarks on here many sadly don't care. We are in a supernatural fight for our country. These left wing loonies are a tool of Satan and we need to pray as hard as we can. Anonymous Coward User ID: 21774931 United States 08/12/2012 11:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | This is of course just another repuke lie: The bill doesn't take money out of the current Medicare budget but, rather, it attempts to slow the program's future growth, curtailing just over $500 billion in anticipated spending increases over the next 10 years. Medicare spending will still increase, however. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projects Medicare spending will reach $929 billion in 2020, up from $499 billion in actual spending in 2009. So while the health care law reduces the amount of future spending growth in Medicare, the law doesn't cut current funding for Medicare. Still, where does the $500 billion in future savings come from? Nearly $220 billion comes from reducing annual increases in payments that health care providers would otherwise receive from Medicare. Other savings include $36 billion from increases in premiums for higher-income beneficiaries and $12 billion from administrative changes. A new national board -- the Independent Payment Advisory Board -- will be tasked to identify $15.5 billion in savings, but the board is prohibited from proposing anything that would ration care or reduce or modify benefits. Then there's another $136 billion in projected savings that would come from changes to the Medicare Advantage program, an alternative to traditional Medicare that has turned out to be much more costly than expected. About 25 percent of Medicare beneficiaries are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan. [link to www.politifact.com] |

Your 90 IQ is showing. Since, in your mind, Republicans want to eliminate Medicare, then you feel like it's okay to have Medicare but not pay for it. That's your solution, as has in fact been implemented by the Democrats when they passed and signed the ObamaCareTax (the law contains 21 new taxes.) The solution for that is the printing of more money which makes prices go up, which is yet another tax on everyone - especially the poor. |

Opponents of the law also misstate that seniors will be negatively affected by the changes. They conveniently leave out some important details, among them that the Affordable Care Act actually: - Provides many preventive services and screenings for free - Reduces prescription costs for Medicare enrollees - Improves the care and coverage provided to senior citizens - Extends the life of the program by keeping costs under control and paying for care more efficiently To say the Affordable Care Act takes money away from Medicare and raises costs for seniors is grossly misleading and overly simplistic. Obamacare actually improves the program for Medicare beneficiaries. Here’s why...... [link to www.americanprogress.org] It's pretty rich to hear Repulsikans pretend to be concerned about Medicare! |
