Well that is the great game isn't it. Sometimes we have to hide to find ourselves.

We are trying to figure something out with abstract thought. We think in abstracts, and to use the mind to find the mind is like riding an ox while looking for an ox. Just like how the teeth can't bite themselves, my left index finger can't touch itself either.

Re: Sitting under the bodhi tree
"If you awaken from this illusion, and you understand that black implies white, self implies other, life implies death — or shall I say, death implies life — you can conceive yourself. Not conceive, but feel yourself, not as a stranger in the world, not as someone here on sufferance, on probation, not as something that has arrived here by fluke, but you can begin to feel your own existence as absolutely fundamental. What you are basically, deep, deep down, far, far in, is simply the fabric and structure of existence itself. So, say in Hindu mythology, they say that the world is the drama of God. God is not something in Hindu mythology with a white beard that sits on a throne, that has royal perogatives. God in Indian mythology is the self, Satcitananda. Which means sat, that which is, chit, that which is consciousness; that which is ananda is bliss. In other words, what exists, reality itself is gorgeous, it is the fullness of total joy."

Re: Sitting under the bodhi tree
Please discuss this OP. I posted this a day or so ago in another thread.

There is no difference between the observer, and the object being observed. Does the object being observed influence the observer, or does the observer influence the object being observed.

They are one, and cannot be untangled. Just like you, I, and all things are one. There is no difference between the external, and internal. There is no difference between the past, present, and future. The only time you think exists is the moment in which you think.

Welcome, and hope you enjoy your stay.
 Quoting: Ipsissimus Nihil 8564682

The only difference that exists is the one in which you think.

Sit very still, and listen. You hear something external, but it's only the sound of the internal perceiving its own music. Walk outside, and feel. You feel the breeze, but it's only the wind of the mind moving inside you.

Enlightenment is nothing more than the fruit of perspective. You will find that the outside is the inside, and that the observer is the observed. You observe yourself as the observed of the observer.

There is bliss.
 Quoting: Ipsissimus Nihil 8564682

The music of silence is the boundless awareness of the true nature of eternal being.

Can you hear it? It is beyond sound. Can you see it? It is beyond sight. Can you touch it? It is beyond touch. Can you taste it? It is beyond taste. Can you smell it? It is beyond smell. Can you sense it? It is beyond sense.

Can you be it? It is beyond being, but it is you.

Please continue.

Re: Sitting under the bodhi tree
Well since we are here sitting I will share what I find interesting today.

The Benben Stone and the Bennu Bird are the same thing.

The Temple at Heliopolis is the proof.

So what this implies is that the Phoenix is the Philosopher Stone.

And from what I know about Alchemy this makes since. Because they make the stone from Calcined Ashes.

Just as the bird is reborn from its own ashes.

I feel this creation is trying to make sense of itself, trying to find itself. Woven into countless dimensions. Being a part of the whole I cannot comprehend the whole, although, become a point in existence in which the whole becomes aware of itself.

We are trying to make sense of it, and that is our clinging, our suffering.

Thinking for myself is still just an act, no matter how you go about it. The real self is the self that goes on of itself, that is "when you look out of your eyes, you're looking at you, that's the real you, the you that goes on of itself." This personification, is a great act.

I am not saying I know the answer but I do think it is a fundamental question, maybe one of the most fundamental questions. The problem I see is that if it cannot be defined or explained it is a meaningless concept, therefore, it needs some sort of definition or explanation. Otherwise it is nothing.

Everything out of nothing doesn't work for me. If something came from "it" then whatever "it" is "it" is something "it" is not nothing. Something cannot come from its very absence, that is a completely nonsensical idea. The entire concept of nothing is meaningless unless it is framed in the positive sense as the absence of something but as a concept of it's own, as a pure negation, I reject it as a useless superstition.
