Anonymous Coward User ID: 19325492 ![]() 08/14/2012 10:37 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Just a few years after Chinese companies lined up to sell shares on Wall Street, a growing number are reversing course and pulling out of U.S. exchanges. Quoting: Sleeping Giant This week, Focus Media Holding Ltd., announced its chairman and private equity firms want to buy back its U.S.-traded shares and take the Shanghai-based advertising company private. The deal would value Focus Media at $3.5 billion, according to financial information firm Dealogic. Smaller companies also are withdrawing from U.S. exchanges. In a sign of official encouragement, a Chinese business magazine said a state bank has provided $1 billion in loans to help companies with listings abroad move them to domestic exchanges. The withdrawals follow accusations of improper accounting by some companies and a deadlock between Beijing and Washington over whether U.S. regulators can oversee their China-based auditors. Some Chinese companies say they are pulling out of U.S. markets because a low share price fails to reflect the strength of their business. Withdrawing also eliminates the cost of complying with American financial reporting rules. [link to finance.yahoo.com] more like they are informed what is about to come. ![]() |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 21235597 ![]() 08/14/2012 11:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Good for China. Just another move on their part to tell the US they don't need our stinking stock markets to sell their shares. Why put up with all the nonsensical regulation and costs here in the states--being told what to do by no fewer than 10 guberment agencies ranging from the SEC to Treasury. These are the same Keystone Cop agencies that drive up the costs of business and provide less than zero protection. If anything, these clowns in suits provide Americans with a false sense of security that someone is minding the store. The Chinese don't play politics very well, and they don't suffer fools. They've put up with our stupid BS for a while. Now that we aren't a growing market for the goods and services, why continue to put up with us -- especially those ignorant bafoons in Washington. Bye bye Ms. American Pie |

Without those exports and the western middle-class China goes back to the dark ages. They will survive, they have been there before. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 21968272 yeah but wouldn't everyone beeeezz goin to a gold backed currency rather than a fiat currency back by nothing except inflation and deflation? the decision seems healthier for the world economy and is prob the next big step in the game we call stock market |
