Breaking: UK authorities threatens to “assault” the Ecuadorian Embassy if it doesn’t hand over Julian Assange.

UK authorities threatened to “assault” the Ecuadorian Embassy if it doesn’t hand over Julian Assange, the country’s foreign minister said. During a news conference, Ricardo Patino said Ecuador will soon announce its decision on Assange’s asylum bid.

The final decision is set to be announced at 7am local time (12 pm GMT) on Thursday.

Ecuador received a "direct" threat from the British authorities that they are prepared to storm the Ecuadorian Embassy in London and arrest Julian Assange. Ricardo Patino said the "written threat" was delivered to Ecuador's Foreign Ministry and ambassador in London.

Ecuador considers such a measure to be an “unacceptable act of hostility” against its sovereignty, the minister said, adding that if implemented it would force Ecuador to “respond.”

"We are not a British colony," Patino said.

Ecuador couldn't do much alone, but it would sure upset all of Latin America!

The Brits are already squabbling with Argentina, Chavez is a forever pain in the ass for the "Imperialists", add in the rest, Peru, Bolivia...although I'm sure their "response" would not be military and Brazil and Chile probably wouldn't be in on it, but there are ALOT of Brits in Latin America...they could always shut down their embassies. The latinos have a nasty habit of throwing rocks at embassies.
