Shooting in refinery parking lot north of New Orleans. TWO sheriffs dead.

Maybe it was a revenge killing by some of the friends or family members of the victims killed by the N.O. serial killer cop.

Maybe the cop being demoted to a desk job for a while wasn't good enough for them. Never can tell.

I live 3 miles from this crime scene. I now see how GLP takes a story and makes it crazy bullshit. First of all its not 10 miles from sinkhole, more like 50. Second, what do the crooked NO police have to do with this? This didn't happen in Orleans Parish????? I can go on but I really dont feel like it.

Maybe revenge killers shop out of their areas. Like serial killers. Understand though, with the number of crooked ones, how hard it would be to investigate all who would have a motive.

Banning them wont do shit but make sure that these stay in the hands of the criminals.

Well near as I can gather the shooter, if there is only one...according to the story thus far walked or more likely drove up to the Sherrif directing traffic and started firing for unknown reasons...also appears to have shot up a car..The Sherrif said earlier that car belonged to a DA investigator named Scott boyington, but the news pages say that a deputy "Micheal Boyington" was in the hospital...assuming the car belongs to him and that this officer was there directing traffic...I would guess he had to be "off duty"...found the guys name...it's the same guy...

Deputy Michael Scott Boyington has been with the St John Sheriff's Office for the past 3 years and is currently assigned to the District Attorney's Office as an Invesigator.

A DA investigator I cannot believe would be "on duty" directing traffic...so either he was off duty "moonlighting"..or the shooting was not just a guy walking up to the traffic cop and shooting starts...

So there is some sorting out of details that will happen there. It also not known what type of weapon was used at this time, the mention of an assualt rifle is only later.

The shooter speeds off and the local Sherrifs get a call about a speeding car in that riverview trailer park area. They proceed to that area with an unknown number of Sherrifs. They find a vehicle that matches the description of the first shooter car. They encounter two people, one of them gets cuffed, they do not say why at this time. After that one of those 2 leads them to a trailer..they go to the trailer and are talking to the person who answered the door with a dog. They see another person inside under a blanket and say he is wearing clothing, they ask that person to come outside...so that is a total of 4 people involved so far, 2 that at least one is cuffed and possibly not near the trailer now and the 2 that were inside the trailer. 2 Sherrifs at least are talking to those 2 guys when a 5th person comes out another door from the trailer with an assualt type rifle and ambush kills the 2 sherrifs who were killed.

In the fire fights at least one more Sherrif is wounded and possibly a couple of civilians too, at least 2 of the 5 suspects were shot and at least was wounded badly, but is expected to survive. Whether some of those also transported to the hospitale came from the trailer park scene or one or more aside from the DA investigator sherrif Boyington from the parking lot scene is not known.

So...if I was going to piece it together...the first shooting happened from the car and was likely a 9mm or a semi-auto handgun of similar sort...whatever sparked that off and whether that shooter was an employee or just drivng by?...who knows...so the shooter opens fire, hits the first Sherrif and his car multiple times, possibly stray rounds hit other people or cars...he then speeds off. The first sherrif is hit, but not mortally, shoulder hit, but he probably had a vest on and that saved his life...a BPV of the type they wear is not going to do much good up against an AK or an M-16 type rifle. The Sherrif calls over the radio he is hit and shots fired etc etc.

Probably some chaotic minutes begin now. The Sherrifs get the call shortly after from someone unknown reporting a speeding car that matches the description from the shot sherrif..Sherrifs go to that location, at least 4, maybe more...they encounter some persons unknown and those people give up one of the trailers...the Sherrifs proceed to that trailer and encounter 2 guys there...they get them outside and while they are talking to those 2 the original shooter now armed with the rifle comes out another door and guns down the 2 sherrifs there...the other sherrifs return fire, one more sherrif wounded in that fire fight and the main shooter goes down from the sherrifs gunfire...

At that point it's over as far as gun fire goes.

2 dead sherrifs, 2 more wounded with 1 not too badly, the other status unknown and 2 suspects wounded by gun fire, one badly but expected to survive, probably the shooter, with some possible other gunshot victims.

If I were to guess?....some whacked out Meth or crack head encounters Sherrif on the road, paranoid flips out and starts shooting..wails back to the base and colors up with heavier firepower and when the Sherrifs show very soon after he is still extremely freaked up and attacks with assault rifle, firefight ,he get's shot down, but he'll probably live...

I don't think there's a lot behind it...no terrorist cell or a planned assualt or anything along those lines....doesn't fit that types Operating procedure.

Have not seen any pictures or info on the shooter(s) or suspects...so we'll see in a while I guess.

Shame that 2 sherrifs got killed and another 2 shot...hope the other Sherrif with unknown status survives.

Latest news I heard on radio newsbreak was that the two shootings were separate incidents. In other words, there was a shooting in the parking lot, then there was a shooting at the trailer park. All they are talking about on wwl radio is gun control.

A few minutes ago SPud, the radio personality, said that a lot of people were wondering about the sinkhole expansion and the risk of explosion there. He actually said everyone should download yesterday's think tank show with Garland as he covered all that. YES, we all want YESTERDAY'S news podcast for the latest on a huge threat looming up river. FWIW I listened to his show yesterday and didn't ever hear him get to it after a long promo. His guests were talking about basketball.

The bad guy waited for the Deputyto come into the parking lot, he knew the Deputy worked as a Traffic Cop on the Valero site.

This cop was serving papers,on bad guy sometime earlier * ie.. child support, outstanding warrant for missing a Court date, blah, blah, blah.** Anyway, bad guy stalked and killed policeman just doing his duty..

I'll bet it was divorce papers or child custody papers..

"Terroristic threats" can be entirely personal in nature, such as "I'll burn your house down", and do not necessarily imply any connection to a terrorist organisation.

The sick thing is, that the Police KNEW these guys were dangerous. Rather, I should say it appears in isolated clusters the police knew these guys were dangerous.

From the looks of it DeSoto Parish, Robertson County Sheriff's Office, Adams, Tennessee, Morehouse Parish Sheriffs , knew that these bad guys went through Nebraska, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Kentucky, Alabama, Indiana, South Carolina and Virginia. All these authorities knew of this dangerous situation, yet from the looks of it they sat on the information. They LET these bad guys live in neighborhoods with innocent women and children. Is this not Maleficence in office?

Speaking of Police, I fear that the Sheriff who had only been in Office 45 days on the day of the shooting was not equipped or properly trained or experienced enough to handle this dangerous situation.. Did the deputies handle the visit to the trailer incorrectly?

A deputy had already been ambushed near the Valero Refinery and shot. The deputies were dispatched to the trailer park on a citizen's tip. However given the FACT there was a previous ambush, St. John's deputies should have gone in heavy with vests, shotguns & AR-15s (if they have them) and maybe brought in State Police on patrol in the area. I don't think St John has a SWAT team.

If they had been investigating a standard assault & battery and received the citizen tip, then 3 deputies would have been fine. But we are talking about a tip after three extremists drove up to a deputy's car and opened fire. That should have put everyone on high alert

The 7 suspects ( that include one black woman) in St. John deputy shootings are tied to a violent anti-government group. Terry Smith admitted to being involved with the Sovereign Citizen Movement.


For the record, I am against too much regulation and a government gone wild, but I also believe in our System of Government, that being doing things legally. Use the courts, use recall, use the voting booth.

Yeah but which Police...it seems the Desoto Parish Sherrifs were onto these guys months ago....not enough reason to make arrest???...how about at least 4 felony warrants?...and you are right...that noob Sherrif likely had no idea who these guys were...and even with that said..you just don't go after a suspect in a shooting like that without some serious manpower/firepower...Now I don't condone sending the shock troops after everything, but once they knew it was car that the first shooter used?...they really should have held positions and called for back up support.....but that's my opinion and it's in hind sight and it's also very possible that the actual Sherrif was not there because it was 5:00 AM and it all seemed to happen pretty fast, but whoever WAS in command at the time should have held his men in check until more back up could have been called, at least.

Still though I would fault the Desoto guys for not alerting the adjoining counties to these people...and why Didn't arrest at least the guys with warrants?...probably up the food chain and as you said...might have been building some career case...meanwhile the fucktards didn't wait to kill people...

LAPLACE, La. - A DeSoto Parish lieutenant has identified four of the five suspects wanted in connection with the fatal shooting of two St. John Parish deputies and the wounding of two others.

Lieutenant Robert Davidson said the suspected shooters were Kyle Joekel and Brian Smith.



Why didn't they share this information? So sad to lose the lives of the young men/Deputies. THey both have small children, God help their families..
