Re: ISAAC: Now a Hurricane
Rain from the storm extending 1, 200 miles. Chad Myers explains that some cells in the outer bands taking wind onshore are comparable to cat 2 hurricane force. Mississippi not far from the top of its banks. Billy Nungesser says the wind is forcing water through the brick walls of his home, and electrical points. He has a hole in his roof and debris in his front yard.

He is comparing the damage received to that of Katrina and saying this is the worst storm since then.

Chad said that 106 mph gust was picked up by the oil rig in the GOM and it was probably a similar gust that hit Nungesser's home that caused that much damage. But it isn't a sustained wind so technically still a cat 1 storm. But from what I have seen all night from various feeds it does seem a whole lot stronger.

Yes because in hurricane gusts, people normally shake the camera for this effect.

yup I saw that too..

TWC is saying conditions won't change much for 24 hrs and I've seen some models that show it parked in approx. the same spot for 2-3 days before it heads north

doubt if that happens but even 24-36 hrs seems like alot

That would be terrible. I just hope those levees hold. There were explaining on CNN how they were designed to pump so much water per hour, but this water is inundating them and falling fast. A nearly dry Mississippi is now nearly full. A very underestimated storm I think.
