If nothing happens people will just move onto that March 2013 date or whatever it was they were throwing around.

The real doom for these people will come on the 23rd and after when they realise they are still here and still have to pay their stupid crap off and still have to go into work.

That'd be lame though, if nothing happens on the 21st, everybody's hopes of doom would be dashed.

That date is only symbolic, like the boiling point. The water is heating up rapidly, before it reaches the boiling point many frogs are already cooked before they know it.

It looks very certain that no monumental doom is going to happen. Maybe some small scale doom might still happen, but I am not referring to that....

I'm talking about world changing doom, that is on world-wide level, not just in the US of A, or anywhere....

I am prepared for the eventuality that nothing happens by 21 Dec.

I might lessen my browsing of such websites considerably, since they do nothing for me and only waste my time with constant speculation...fearmongering....and getting excited over absolutely nothing.

I will be under big pressure to buy the chrissie pressies in the two days left.

12/21 is just an official marker, I believe. I don't think anything will happen on that specific day, other than the solar alignment and the crossing of the galactic plane. Who knows though, maybe something will happen.

I simply expect things to keep getting worse up until that date, as well as after.. I'm personally expecting maximum doom aroud march/april/may of 2013.

If nothing happen until this date, I will resume on with my "normal" life.

I would point out that we should take that time to realize that we do not trust are government to have our best interests in mind. and that maybe it is time for a change.

The wife and I and kids have a dinner date. Some nice steaks on the grill, some good wine “for the adults” and I have saved a special Cuban cigar for an after dinner treat.

Yep, we need to start putting together some new bullshit doom dates.

I say some short / near-term ones throughout 2013 to keep the doom-lovers happy throughout the course of next year as well as more intermediate and long-term doom dates, so the doom-lovers have something to get excited about on a more long-term basis.

I'm thinking more rogue planets / comets / asteroids / interstellar gas / alien invasions / pole shift / interdimensional bs tied in with ancient archaeological stuff.

Doom will happen when nobody expects it to.... So my guess is that people will lay off the doom, actually find some happiness, and then BAM.
