If nothing happens people will just move onto that March 2013 date or whatever it was they were throwing around.

I say some short / near-term ones throughout 2013 to keep the doom-lovers happy throughout the course of next year as well as more intermediate and long-term doom dates, so the doom-lovers have something to get excited about on a more long-term basis. I'm thinking more rogue planets / comets / asteroids / interstellar gas / alien invasions / pole shift / interdimensional bs tied in with ancient archaeological stuff. A surefire recipe for a veritable doomfest!
