Money doesn't need to be backed by physical gold, just faith in the government.

No biggie, our dollar is also backed by precious metal, only difference is ours is called tungsten, not exactly gold but pretty darn close.

..cool..Chinese products will cost more than domestic production...YEA !!!...made in the USA returns to the shelves...no war,unemployment back to 3%...will the EU go to war to ?....ha ha...China wants to injure it's total customer base?..really?...we can make all the stuff we import, it's just cheaper..if China wants to make all it's exports,as well as it's currency, jump in price/value...cool...do it tomorrow PLEASE...just don't think about it...DO IT...cause if you think about it,you would NEVER do that...unless you want to reenter the 1960's and rip your nation apart...

....I may have a blind spot of this gold thing...when we HAD the Gold/Silver standard, we had recessions,depressions, unemployment,inflation,deflation..boom and bust times...so why was that better ?..I'm not being a smart ass,I just can't see how returning to the gold standard changes anything...all the same good/bad times...
