I just went Gold/Silver Tard. Here's why:
Not only to prepare for financial crysis, but mainly to stop my bad habit of spending shitloads of money on Amazon everytime my Paycheck rolls in.

Instead of ordering crap, which doesn't interest me anymore in a few weeks, I order 400 € of Gold and Silver from now on when I get paid every month.

Just received my first Gold coin and Silver coins. (1/5oz canadian maple leaf gold and 2oz canadian maple leaf silver)

It's not much, but at least I don't give in to ugly consumerism. I keep my money as a long time investment, with a nice increase in value, and I am not able to spend it as easily as I would be with cash money.

Plus, I get a warm fuzzy feeling from the looks.

I like it!

Gold/Silver is worthless in a financial crisis. No one wants your worthless metal when they are starving.

Re: I just went Gold/Silver Tard. Here's why:
Well, after WWII Gold didn't lose its value.
Paper money was used as fuel for fire.

And, if the shit is really hitting the fan, what difference does it make?
If all loses its value, it doesn't matter if I lose cash money or gold money.
So, basically I can't lose. Also, I'm a prepper... i won't starve.

I haven't yet. but I will be soon.. Life is a gamble any way you look at it. Historically speaking, metals are a sound investment. I wouldn't bet anything on stocks, and I wouldn't trust a paper certificate either..

You have been infected Herr OP with what is medically termed goldensilveritis of which there is no known cure.

However it can be controlled further this condition is also known as gold bug or silver bug of which I too am afflicted.

Your modest condition will advance with time and you will have a large stack.

Good luck to you Herr OP...

good for you ... and for those who look down on gold i 'd like to see them name a event in past history which a country went to invade another country to rob/steal their fiat money.... even to come up with a future scenario which a country would invade another to plunder that country fiat money...

thats funny
i usually just spend on whatever. going shopping without needing stuff. buying cloths. stuff. ordering dinner

now i just decided that since saving doesnt work for me i am going to start buying silver coins at the beginning of each month

the more i save up the bigger the stuff gets that i eventually buy with it. so if i dont spend on cloths and little stuff and save for a while ill just spend it on something big i dont need like a tv, new playstion, new fridge whatever and im hoping that this way i will just think twice before buying something because i hope i wouldnt like to trade it back in.

its just a good extra to have something worth your money at home without being able to spend it like money. i know i could save money in the bank or even at home but thats just too easy to spend

Gold can be used in canning to keep certain foods indefinitely.

Silver has potent anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties.

These metals have real uses, but may not be as good as vice items for bartering.

When say the dollar is replaced at some point it will be best to have all assets in gold & silver. Some real estate. There are always buyers for the PM.

Paper assets will be worthless. Cant make the house or tax pmnts with worthless paper.

completely false... when my native country collapsed after the US pulled out its support to fight against communism.... fiat money became useless , could not even use it to wipe our ass ( paper cut ) farmers with extra food would gladly barter their food for GOLD not silver , BUT GOLD and that was how most people survived until the communist regime was set but later on began to kill us ( killing fields ) ; people with bags and bags of fiat money ended up starving or jumping off the bridges back then... so don't kid yourself with your pea brain size mind.
