Yea I know OP tell me about. I am on the southside and I haven't been out at all this week. I am a little distance from downtown but watching the news makes it look martial law has already taken place. I was actually a little scared seeing it on TV.

I was kinda pissed when my girlfriend asked me to take her and pick her up...

There are a number of things I'd rather do than drive into that mess. Things that make the list: Lighting my pants on fire, eating dirt, firing myself out of a cannon...you know, things like that.

Since I got pinnage, I'll make this thread worthwhile. I'll take some pictures tonight with my phone and upload them to this thread when I get back.

I'll even ride with the top down to get a nice panoramic view.

The checkpoints start out with these strange white speedbumps that look like the things you drive your car onto when you go through an automatic car wash. I suspect it has something to do with looking for car bombs.

Then they do a nice once-over of your car by looking through the trunk and shit...all completed with an attack dog present.

If you have any access to a motorcycle or scooter that would solve the search problem, weather permitting. Even if they search it there's not much to search.

Had to do a google image search to remind myself what a checkpoint looks like as I've only ever seen them in movies.

I used to have a motorcycle...then I hit a deer on it. Long story short, I no longer ride a motorcycle lol.

I do have a Mazda MX-5 though, that doesn't give too much more area to search than your average bike.

everything within 100 miles of the border, land or ocean, is a constitution free zone. Within that zone they don't need a warrant. I know that the DHS doesn't need a warrant in that zone....

I have had to drive to the Epic Center every morning and every evening to pick up my daughter, who is interning in a national newsroom covering the DNC since last Saturday. The car gets searched every single day. Ugh. I am dreading tonight.

you guys need to get out of the cities. this is just beginning, it will get much worse. your property value will soon drop like a rock....

Probable cause is one lie away. What they do is take the dog, walk around your car, and say "Yep the dog alerted".

Then when they tear your car apart and find nothing they blame the dog.
