It means that the majority of sheeple, were living their "ordinary" lives in ignorant bliss till an extinction event struck their planet.

Only the faithful who knew and prepared (in this case Noah)
lived to seed a New World.

MOST HUMANS ARE COMMON AND IGNORANT TO WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON, BOTH GLOBALLY AND COSMICALLY SPEAKING. WHEN A MAJOR SHIFT OCCURS, THEY DO NOT EVOLVE... THEY FUCKING ALL DIE.

The people drinking and partying and working and playing till the poles realign and the floods engulf their cities?

Or the guy who everyone thinks is crazy... watching the signs, getting ready... who sails away happily to live a long and fruitful life in a NEW and Beautiful World?
