A cancer?? Pfft. Someone has an overly high estimation of the importance of the human race. You can not even come close to comparing us to cancer. Cancer eats away the human body, it devours and destroys. We would never be so powerful or plentiful. The fact is we are more like eczema. We are just a topical, irritating rash. All life on the planet is, and all life on the planet does what id does best, it spreads, it thrives, it flourishes, and it consumes. We are no different. It is nice to see that we have evolved to a point where we realize we can consume less and still thrive, and we are slowly headed in that direction. But even if we didnt. Even if we get worse, the earth is just fine, and after a few hundred years of no humans the planet is capable of completely recovering as if we had never been here at all. Because we can not impact it enough that it can never recover, unless we make a conscious effort to do so. Nothing we do is permanent, irreperable, or irreversable, except to ourselves. The earth will be fine. we wont.
