Heavy rain causes mudslides in Seattle, Western Washington

THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

SEATTLE -- Continued heavy rain caused more mudslides overnight in Seattle and elsewhere in Western Washington.

One mudslide has blocked railroad tracks north of Seattle, and as a result Sound Transit spokesman Lee Somerstein says there will be no Sounder commuter train running today between Seattle and Everett.

Service will be out for at least 48 hours. A similar slide hit the same area on Friday. Somerstein says Sounder trains are still running between Seattle and Tacoma.

State Transportation Department crews are at the scene of a mudslide that has blocked a northbound lane of I-Five in the Nisqually area near the Pierce-Thurston county line.

A clogged drain resulted in a mudslide that caused a retaining wall to bulge and forced the evacuation of a fraternity annex near the University of Washington. The Seattle Fire Department evacuated five residents and shut off power to the building (at 47th Street and 22nd Avenue Northeast).

Latest reports of mudslides in Lake
Washington area, Rainier Beach, and
Many more areas, winds causing already
saturated trees to fall in numerous
areas causing additional slides.
Many more road closures as we speak.

Thanks OP.
If everyone would start posting the
happenings in their areas we would
have a true sense of what is REALLY
happening around us, besides the fluff
and distractions the MSM dotes on.

All the PNW needs now is an EQ which would isolate them even more. I would
imagine even a 3.5 could set things in
motion. I hope they have stocked up
on emergency supplies, like WATER and
FOOD.

No doubt we're in for quite a ride!

THAT'S why i left there a few years back and darn glad I did.. after earthquakes up there and the wind storms that come thru and then watching Mt. Rainer starting to melt ...had to go.....beautiful place tho....I think that is all about to change....Even dr,Doom Major Ed Dames says his team has remote viewed a great earthquake hitting the area Aug or Sept THIS YEAR 2006.....HOPE and pray that everyone stays safe or gets out in time....what ever your soul contract is ALL WILL BE AS ORDAINED IN THEIR INDIVIDUAL LIVES....

i've been watching the satellite pics for about 3 or 4 months... at first, the precip stream would hit vancouver island, then up into manitoba or whatever... or it would hit oregon or california... or it would go pretty much straight north into where the aleutians meet the mainland... there was always a big storm going on somewhere, but it always hit north or south of the pnw... that was for autumn, at least... lately, the precip stream has often been going straight over western washington...

let me put it another way... for many weeks, no red or orange formations over seattle on the sat pic... not even yellow... just hazy white... lately, those orange and yellow formations have been passing right over...

one thing about seattle this year... raining or not.. it has been consistently windier than i remember in the recent past...

as an aside, the awesome new kinds of clouds we see sure are pretty... whether that is caused by grbs, or chemtrails, or chinese factory pollutants; many of the cloudscapes of late have been - in a word - stunning...

I finally made the grand relocation
in Sept, after spending the past couple
of years trying to convince friends and
family to do the same. But I have
kept piped-in (via satellite and shortwave radio) to the daily events
in Seattle. It is my hometown and
birthplace, my loved ones are still there, but I do think most of them now
carry food, water and supplies in their
cars.

I too have the feeling that "things" are
coming down quickly there and soon they
won't have a choice to leave.
Blizzard in all mtn passes east, too.

Awww shit not the winds again. Last time they came through here doin 90 mph.

Coming this way over the ocean, it does look ominous. Rain is OK, but high winds suck.
