Hi; interested in topic

not sure if this is related/relavant; if not, just delete.

was looking up a book written by a fellow by the name of Darryl Reanney :
"After Death: A New Future for Human Consciousness" Nov'96

skimming reviews; one caught my eye, written by someone that refers to themself in a manner of personal interest

so; then viewed his other "reviews"

this person reviews a CD; "Bringing Home the Ashes" Wild Swans

then i see your thread; wiki "Rosicrucian"

Link:
[link to en.wikipedia.org]

drawn to photo; 18° Knight of the Rose Croix

see the "swan"; knew i had to post "how i came to post.."

If you have Rosy Cross relatives, wouldn't you be the one with inside knowledge to share with us? =D

Hermetic alchemists...hmmm... I would be surprised if a few certain people around here can't help but poop some knowitallism soon enough.

Well, recent as in a few years ago. I been 'busy'.
Took my Uncle to a book launch to do with a prominent family member in history. Met some relatives there and clicked with one distant cousin. He told me about him being a Rosicrucian.
We spoke a few times on the phone.
Family heirloom - there is a red rose on it somewhere. On the Crest, that is...if that's what you meant.
Reading the link you kindly provided - there seems to be a link with the Lutherans also, of which my ancestors were.
Gonna look into this some more - got waaaaaaaaaay sidetracked googling the family history in Germany.

it's an order. but as with most old orders, there are plenty of spin-offs, all claiming traditional lineage...

they're open to anyone. if you're interested, mail or call them, or walk into one of their offices. most large towns in europe have a meeting place, which is open to public.

in the netherlands, they still have (or had) their own schools for ages 6-12 ("Ryckeborgh"). their teaching methods were interesting (take a pinch of montessiore, a whole lot of steiner and a truckload of symbolic hermetism, and combine it with a lot of classical science).

Then again, the central pentagram is how I've been told they are supposed to be.
It's an awesome diagram - would like a poster of this - as like a meditative contemplation focus.
There's much to it!

Which Rosicrucian order?

The Masons have a Rosicrucian degree.

A.M.O.R.C.

Max Hiendel (sp) started one in the last century.

A man, last name Clymer, also started one in the last century.

The above three were competing, each claiming to have received the keys from the European Rosicrucians.

There are a few others, also with varying amounts (or none) of continuous lineage and authority. There are splinter groups that call themselves Rosicrucian; but mostly, like churches, became at odds and went off to do their own thing according to their own lights/desires.

So, it depends on what your relatives meant by saying they were/are Rosicrucians.

Check out the Golden Dawn rituals. When scribing the pentagram, where you start and end can matter symbolically, each different way having a different influence.

Re: Rose Crux - Rosicrucian
"From the "Fama" and "Confessio" we gather the religious opinions of the Rosicrucian Fraternity, and classify them as follows:--

a. They acknowledge Jesus Christ as the Son of God.
b. Man is born into life by the power of God, falls asleep in Jesus, and will rise again through the Holy Spirit.

c. They acknowledge a personal devil, the old enemy, who "hinders every good purpose by his instruments."

d. They "use two Sacraments, as they are instituted with all Formes and Ceremonies of the first and renewed Church."

e. It follows from this that they believe the Lutheran Reformation restored the Christian Church to its primitive purity.

f. They consider "that from the beginning of the world there hath not been given to man a more excellent, admirable, and wholesome book than the Bible," which is "the whole sum" of their laws.

g. They call the pope Antichrist, a blasphemer against Christ. They execrate him, and look forward to the time "when he shall be torn in pieces with nails." They foretell his "final fall," with the assurance of Brothers the prophet, and in the terminology of Mr Grattan-Guiness."

I gather the poster claiming them to be 'satanists' is catholic.

Re: Rose Crux - Rosicrucian
"According to Paracelsus, magic is that great and hidden wisdom which discovers the interior constitution of everything. "It teaches the true nature of the inner man as well as the organization of his outward body." It includes "a knowledge of visible and invisible nature." It is the only true teacher of the art of healing. If physicians possessed it, their books might be burnt and their medicines be thrown into the ocean. "Magic and sorcery are two entirely different things, and there is as much difference between them as there is between light and darkness, and between white and black." The same authority

p. 206

teaches that the great agent in magic is the imagination confirmed by that faith which perfects will-power, and that the imagination thus strengthened can create its own objects. "Man has a visible and invisible workshop. The visible one is his body; the invisible one his imagination. . . . The imagination is a sun in the soul of man, acting in its own sphere as the sun of the earth acts in his. Wherever the latter shines, germs planted in the soil grow, and vegetation springs up; and the sun of the soul acts in a similar manner, and calls the forms of the soul into existence. . . . The spirit is the master, imagination the tool, and the body the plastic material. Imagination is the power by which the will forms sidereal entities out of thoughts. It is not fancy, which latter is the corner-stone of superstition and foolishness. . . . The power of the imagination is a great factor in medicine. It may produce diseases in man and in animals, and it may cure them." 1 This theory covers all the phenomena of visions, ecstacies, evocations, and other pseudo-miracles, recognising that they are facts, and accounting for the futility of their results."

You study Rosicrucianism but since you never finish studying, you never actually become one. to become one would be to become a perfect being.

It was a few years ago, so quite possibly my wording is incorrect.
Interesting, though.
I'm certain that there are perfect human beings in existence.
Depending on how we define perfection, I suppose.
Some schools teach that even the Gods have ego's. Buddhism, from memory.

Re: Rose Crux - Rosicrucian
From what I've recently read, (information overload!! so a bit patchy) is that The Rosicrucian orders were created by the Illuminati (not the bizarre "world domination" Illuminati that you read about here) to teach some of the secret teachings to people (Illumination) without compromising the safety & anonymity of the Illuminati order proper.

I think it strayed a bit for a long time there, but is again being run by people more concerned with helping people than enslaving people.

Although JFK was assassinated by The Syndicate (Moony Giancana) and The Company (CIA), it cannot be forgotten that their main weapon was Sirhan Sirhan.

He was a Rosicrucian.

Rosicrucians, in combination with the Syndicate and the Company, are quite adept at modifying the will of the weak minded.
