Nor did the company immediately offer the possible cause of the fire. Pipelines carrying gasoline and diesel in Mexico are frequently tapped by thieves looking to steal oil products. The government-controlled oil company said in a statement that the fire started around 10:45 am local time and burned for roughly two hours before it was extinguished. Early reports said four people had been injured in the blaze. It was not clear if they were among the dead.
