Re: ))) Random SETH Ruminations (((
[Barrie Gellis, a resident of New York City, was a member of Jane Roberts weekly ESP classes held at Jane and Rob's Water Street apartment in Elmira, NY, where Seth often put in an appearance during those informal sessions.]

DALE: What was it like being a member of Jane Roberts ESP Class?

BARRIE: I was one of the "New York Boys" mentioned in in Sue Watkin's book about the class, Conversations With Seth. We went up to class in Elmira weekly, on Tuesdays, which was about a 5-hour drive each way--for a total of 10 hours on the road. None of us really worked much in those days and all of us were between the ages of 21-23. I attended class from October 1972 to about May 1974; and then sporadically after that although I remained extremely close to my friends who still attended regularly.

There was a very mixed atmosphere in the "class" which was really just a bunch of people crowded into Jane's living room. Usually, there was a group of 15-to-40 people attending; always some visitors or new people; always the lights on; always a lot of wine on the table. There was always loud talk and lively discussions with Jane sometimes directing it in certain directions and other times just being swept along with it. When Seth came thru, everything stopped and quieted down. You may have heard some of the audio tapes Ricky is selling...he's known as Rick Stack. He has Rob's permission to actually sell audio tapes of Jane's classes. Anyway, I'm not selling anything, so take it easy and relax

When Seth came thru, everybody shut up and listened. Seth had a way of putting things that always complimented you. For example, if there was a visitor in the class who we all thought was an asshole, Seth would come thru and express what we were feeling about the guy or gal, but put it in such a way that somehow turned it into a compliment, while not losing any of the qualities which we had labelled as "asshole." I don't know if that's clear, but it was part of the atmosphere. After Seth left, Jane would ask a class member to tell her what happened because she never was really aware of what she said as Seth. This knowledge that she would call on somebody always made me real nervous, thinking that she may call on me and my mind would go blank and I wouldn't remember anything, and anything I would remember I would say wrong anyway--so I often felt nervous, but she never called on me for that, thank God.

Seth was mostly very funny while being poignant. So, laughter and humor was a big part of the atmosphere. When the Sumari came through and sang it was either very moving or very boring--depending upon if you got into it or not. There was a character called Seth 2. When he came through (only a few times he came through), it was very spooky and eerie. He spoke in a monotone voice and kind of removed from people, whereas Seth was very earthy and into people. As far a "presence" felt--sometimes all of us sitting around Jane in the living room as she sat in her rocker--somehow it felt like a Indian tribe sitting in a cave, leaning against the walls, eating, talking, while night passed outside the entrance.

The general atmosphere in the living room was always lively and anti-spiritual, lights on, funny, no spooky or scary talk, cursing and drinking and smoking allowed and accepted. People always friendly, although arguments sometimes occurred regarding philosophies or interpretations, but Seth would intervene and make both sides feel good about themselves. One message Seth kept repeating was, "The vitality you feel in my voice is your own vitality." He kept turning us back onto and into ourselves. When he would not answer someone's question, he would say something like, "When you ask the question, you already know the answer. If I answer you, you will have only half the answer, but would not look further thinking you have the whole answer." When Seth was out, you could certainly feel Jane was not talking anymore, and another "presence" was there, but it was not a ghostly feeling or presence, but as if another person was there, and whatever feelings and energies go along with another person speaking and getting the full attention of a gathered group who all love him.

ESPNJ(JS): I also follow the seth material and it seems to always ring true to my inner being whenever I read and re-read the books. It seems as if I already know this and am just reconfirming this information as i read it for the first time. Do you know why this is?

BARRIE: I think you know the answer. You do already know this Seth stuff deep inside and you are just reconfirming this information as you read it for what seems to be the first time. You are not alone in this. Another common feeling people report from reading Seth is that Seth is somehow around them...and that he is communicating with them personally somehow as they read. Seth has said that while reading his books you do go into some kind of trance. Perhaps in this light trance state people are in communication with Seth. I like to think so.

SCOTT: Did you ever suspect Jane might be a fake?

BARRIE: Nothing she ever did in my personal interactions with her (in class or in conversation) had enough motivation in it for to "be a fake" or for me to ask myself that question. Initially, I knew I had to see and assess for myself what was going on...if I believed in what was happening or not. Short of being an out-and-out fake, it could have been that I did not believe her, altho i believed that she was sincere.

In either case, nothing even struck me as fake or phony. Nothing she did or said (except existing) was self-serving. She did not need the class in order to sell books. She did not persue fame or fortune. What was there to gain by being a fake? Only selling books...and she could do that without the class.

Are you a fake? Why should I think that? Your letter and questions sound sincere and "real." The same with Jane.

Anyway, witnessing what Seth said and how he said it...the words, the pauses, the insights, the humor...if that was fake, then screw what's real. Same thing with the books. I really didn't care what the "true source" was (altho I believe it was Seth as Jane/Seth explains it)...but I really didn't care because the information was so fascinating. If she got it from her unconscious, from a chipmonk, from a fire hydrant, or from a hobo who lived on the corner...it still rang true and had meaning; it still was breakthru material I heard no where else; and it still was very helpful and positive...turning me towards myself for the answers...not towards anyone or anything else...that I "needed" in order to get "the" truth.

ANITA: I have found the Seth material a little difficult to stay with but have managed to get through a few of the books. Do you have a personal favorite?

BARRIE: Reading a Seth book is like plodding thru a syruppy invisible plasmic, poetic and compassionate goo with wonderful insights every few steps. Sometimes it feels like a few years reading one paragraph; or a few seconds reading one book (when looking back at it once you're done).

To people new to the material...I suggest reading The Seth Material first, and read it thru like a regular book. Then I suggest reading Seth Speaks and The Nature of Personal Reality and the Mass Events book.

There's no simple way to fall thru a 1,000 miles of chocolate mousse. You just jump in and enjoy the journey. One way I have found to read the books (altho this has worked after I was pretty familiar with the philosophies) was to skim the pages until I found something that caught my attention...and then read the next x-number of pages until I lost interest again. And then repeat the deed.

I love those yellow highlighters...and always use one when I read Seth...to mark what really hits me in order to go back to at a later date and re-read. Re-reading Seth is always like reading it for the first time. I also write in the margins to remember a thought or connection while reading...or to jot down the general topic of the paragraph or pages.

I can't say I have a favorite Seth book. Well, I could say it but I'd be lying. They are all fascinating...as you know. Ricky Stack is putting out a series of 10 books which are the previously unpublished Seth sessions which lead up to Seth Speaks. He's up to #4 by now. If you contact him, you can get them. He can be reached at: [link to www.sethcenter.com.] [The EARLY SESSIONS, nine volumes, all published now]

Let him know I sent you, so that he can see that all those late nights spent arguing over the meaning of life, Chinese food, and how to stuff snowballs into a leaky radiator to get the car going...have not been in vain.

RANDOM SETH QUOTE 2006 January 25
--------------------------------------
"These simple remarks will themselves be the basis for further rather involved discussions, as the mechanisms that are set into motion in such mental or psychic manipulation of matter have never really been explained. Remember however that such psychic manipulation of matter is the normal occurrence. It is however usually operating at subconscious levels, and without either knowledge or intent as far as the conscious mind is concerned. To be able to bring these natural but subconscious forces at all under any domination by the conscious mind is a terrific task. Such domination will never be habitual, but conscious awareness of subconscious manipulation of matter may become habitual, and may often of its own accord follow the desires of the conscious mind, if certain conditions are met. First of all, the conscious desires must be in league with, and unopposed by, subconscious expectations. Two, sufficient emotional impetus must be discharged, and this will be on or from subconscious levels. And three, communication between the conscious and subconscious, or the inner and so-called outer parts of the whole self, must be excellent."

SETH EXERCISES

EXPANDING TISSUE CAPSULE AND UNIVERSE
------------------------------------------
Your plane is a training place in the use of manipulation of energy. Your plane seems to deal with cause and effect, but this is in itself a necessary cam-ouflage. In actuality there is no cause and effect as you think of it. There is only spontaneity. For a particular interval you must be taught as if there were cause and effect, so that the result of spontaneity would not end up as chaos. This statement may seem contradictory but later you will see that it is not.

Now that we have briefly discussed the meaning of a tissue capsule I will go into the seventh inner sense a bit more deeply. This sense allows for an expan-sion or contraction of the tissue capsule. Theoretically there is no limit to the contraction or expansion allowed, but practically there are usually definite lim-itations.

I am only going to hint of something here. For fun, think of the expand-ing tissue capsule in terms of or in connection with, the theory of your expand-ing universe. Such contemplation should be excellent exercise. This is quite evocative, and I hope I can peek in sometime when you are trying to deal with it.

I will explain it to you, but at a much later date. Also, understand that what you think of or experience as space travel is another camouflage. Space travel so-called is an idea that makes sense only on your plane. I'm saving these little tidbits for you this evening.

Perhaps a rereading of the material on fifth dimension will help you here, and one of these days we will carry that discussion further. In actuality, use of the inner senses will get you anywhere you want to go. The idea of destination in these terms is laughable. Every place is one place. You do the dividing and the separations.

Re: ))) Random SETH Ruminations (((
Thank you to whoever started this thread. I started reading Seth way back in the early 80s. Can't say I fully understood what they were trying to say so sort of gave up on them. I moved on from esoteric writing to esoteric writing until I came across the Abraham material. Esther Hicks got her inspiration from Jane Roberts and took it from there. Seth writings as I have re-read them are wonderful in and of themselves. Anyone who likes them should definitely read any of the Abraham maaterials....They have taken Seth a step beyond. JMO. It's not like I was learning anything from them...but I was remembering what I already knew.

I have met Jerry and Esther Hicks and attended an Abraham seminar. It was a wonderful experience and Esther is totally down to earth. I think someone earlier gave a link to her website so I would urge anyone who loves Seth to go and visit it. Abraham teaches one concept and one concept only....that is that we are all responsible for what happens to us...good or "bad". It's Seth but "more".

Sorry for the thread drift....I just feel that it's important.... hf

RANDOM SETH QUOTE 2006 January 26
--------------------------------------
"The brain deals exclusively with camouflage patterns, transforming vitality into physical environmental camouflage patterns. The mind deals with basic principles inherent on all planes. The brain is itself part of the camouflage pattern, and can be interpreted and probed by physical instruments. The mind cannot be probed by physical instruments. It cannot even be found by physical instruments. The mind is the connective. It is here that the secrets of the universe will be discovered, and the mind itself is the tool of discovery."

BROADCASTING YOUR ALTERED POSITION
----------------------------------------
When someone who has been ill starts on the road to recovery through changing his beliefs, he may be quite surprised to find even his dearest allies suddenly upset, reminding him of the "reality" of his dire state for the same reasons.

Because beliefs form reality - the structure of experience - any change in beliefs altering that structure initiates change to some extent, of course. The status quo which served a certain purpose is gone, new exercises are introduced, another creative process begins. Because your private beliefs are shared with others, because there is interaction, then any determined change of direction on your part is felt by others, and they will react in their own fashion.

You are setting out to experience the most fulfilled reality that you can. To do this you have, hopefully, begun to examine your beliefs. You may want others to change. In doing so you begin with yourself. I told you (in the 619th session) to imagine a game in which you see yourself acting in line with the new desired belief. As you do so, see yourself affecting others in the new fashion.

See them reacting to you in the new way. This is highly important because telepathically you are sending them interior messages. You are telling them that you are changing the conditions and behavior of your relationship. You are broadcasdont_use_thistered position.

Some will be quite able to understand you at that level. There may be those who need the old framework, and someone, if not you, to play the part you played before. Those people will either drop out of your experience or you must drop them from yours.

Once more, if you think of daily life as an ever-moving three-dimensional painting with you as the artist, then you will realize that as your beliefs change so will your experience. You must accept the idea completely, however, that your beliefs form your experience. Discard those beliefs that are not bringing you those effects you want. In the meantime you will often be in the position of telling yourself that something is true in the face of physical data that seems completely contradictory. You may say, "I live amid abundance and am free from want," while your eyes tell you that the desk is piled with bills. You must realize that you are the one who produced that "physical evidence" that still faces you, and you did so through your beliefs.

So as you alter the belief, the physical evidence will gradually begin to "prove" your new belief as faithfully as it did your old one. You must work with your own ideas. While there are general categories of beliefs, and general reasons for them, you must become personally aware of your own, for no one person is completely like any other. The old beliefs served a purpose and fulfilled a need.

As mentioned earlier you may have believed that of itself poverty was more spiritual than abundance, or that you were basically unworthy and should therefore punish yourself by being poor.

According to your energy, power and intensity, you can help change the beliefs of many people, of course.

In your daily physical life you are usually concerned simply with changing your beliefs about yourself, and then changing the beliefs others hold about you. You will find conflicting beliefs within yourself and you must become aware of these. As an example, you may believe that you want to understand the nature of your inner self - you may tell yourself you want to remember your dreams, but at the same time still hold a belief in the basic unworthiness of the self, and be quite frightened of remembering your dreams because of what you might find there.

It does no good in such a case to bemoan the situation and say, "I want to understand myself but I'm frightened that I will not like what I find." You yourself must change your beliefs. You must stop believing that the inner self is a dungeon of unsavory repressed emotion. It does contain some repressed emotion. It also contains great intuition, knowledge, and the answers to all of your questions.

Listen to your own conversation as you speak with friends, and to theirs. See how you reinforce each other's beliefs. See how your imaginations often follow the same lines. All of this is quite out in the open if you realize that it is.

QUESTION FROM JAMES SIDAWAY: Have you found any source of information which is as resourceful as Seth/Ruburt?

BARRIE: Nothing I ever read ever encompassed all that Seth has said. I use Seth's information as the standard by which I judge other spiritual messages and discourse. I have found a few other channelers that seemed to be on the same wavelength--but none ever matched Seth's humanness--his poetic, humorous, compassionate, punny, earthy way of talking about such potentially mind- blowing ideas as well as something as common as a sidewalk. I can't recall any names at the moment. I do remember I thought Ramtha was not helpful or good at all. Something like Michael & Alexander I seem to remember as liking. And also Emmanual. There's someone I've "met" online named Veronica who seems pretty interesting as well.

The most surprising Seth-agreement book I found was by Lyssa Royal & Keith Priest who did channeling of UFO creatures in a book called Creatures From Within. I was surprised because nothing her sources said conflicted with anything Seth has said. It was fascinating to read from a Seth viewpoint and it explained so much about UFOs and abductions (which aren't against anybody's wills; agreements are made on inner levels and the people can't consciously recall them).

Re: ))) Random SETH Ruminations (((
Since the 'Abraham' entity has been mentioned a couple of times in this thread, I went out and did some browsing. To be honest I am somewhat underwelmed by what I found.....

[Here is the essence of the Abraham-Hicks message, distilled from workshops with Abraham since 1986.]

You are a Physical Extension of that which is Non-physical.
---------------------------------------------------------
All-That-Is, or God, is not finished and waiting for you to catch up. You are the leading edge of thought, here seeking more: more of all that feels good to you, more of that which is fresh and gloriously uplifting. (You are, in essence, bringing heaven to earth.)

You are here in this body because you chose to be here.
--------------------------------------------------------
You wanted the opportunity to experience this delicious contrast in time and space, and with great anticipation you came to co-create with other joy-seeking beings, to fine-tune the process of deliberate thought. (What, where, when and with whom are your choices, too.)

The basis of your life is Freedom; the purpose of your life is Joy.
--------------------------------------------------------
You are free to choose to discover new avenues for your joy. In your joy you will grow; and in your growth you will add to the growth of All-That-Is. (However, you are also free to choose bondage or pain... but everything anyone chooses is only because they believe it will help them feel better.)

You are a creator; you create with your every thought.
--------------------------------------------------------
You often create by default, for you are getting what you are giving your attention to wanted or unwanted but you know by how it feels if what you are getting (creating) is what you are wanting or if it is not what you are wanting. (Where is your attention focused?)

Anything that you can imagine is yours to be or do or have.
--------------------------------------------------------
As you ask yourself why you want it, the essence of your desire is activated, and the Universe begins to bring it to you. The more intense your positive feelings, the faster it is coming to you. (It is as easy to create a castle as a button.)

You are choosing your creations as you are choosing your thoughts.
--------------------------------------------------------
Your loving, Inner Being offers guidance in the form of emotion. Entertain a wanted or unwanted thought and you feel a wanted or unwanted emotion. Choose to change the thought and you've changed the emotion and the creation. (Make more choices in every day.)

The Universe adores you; for it knows your broadest intentions.
--------------------------------------------------------
You have come to earth with great intentions, and the Universe constantly guides you on your chosen path. When you are feeling good, you are, in that moment, allowing more of that which you have intended from your broader perspective. (You are Spirit Incarnate.)

Relax into your natural Well-being. All is well. (Really it is!)
--------------------------------------------------------
The essence of all that you appreciate is constantly flowing into your reality. As you find more things to appreciate, your state of appreciation opens more avenues to more to feel appreciation for. (As you think you vibrate. As you vibrate you attract.)

You are a creator of thoughtways on your unique path of joy.
--------------------------------------------------------
No one can limit where you can direct your thought. There are no limits to your joyous journeys to experience. On the path to your happiness you will discover all that you want to be or do or have. (Allowing others their experiences allows you yours.)

Actions to be taken and money to be exchanged are by-products of your focus on joy.
--------------------------------------------------------
On your deliberately joyous journey your actions will be inspired, your resources will be abundant and you will know by the way you feel that you are fulfilling your reason for life. (Most have this one backwards, therefore most feel little joy in their actions or their possessions.)

You may appropriately depart your body without illness or pain.
--------------------------------------------------------
You need not attract illness or pain as an excuse to leave. Your natural state coming, remaining or leaving is that of health and of Well-being. (You are free to choose otherwise.)

You can not die; you are Everlasting Life.
--------------------------------------------
In grace, you may choose to relax and allow your gentle transition back into your Non-physical state of pure, positive Energy. Your natural state is that of Foreverness. (Have fun with all of this. Lighten up! You can't get it wrong.)

P.S. It is not necessary for even one other person to understand the Laws of the Universe or the processes that we are offering here in order for you to have a wonderful, happy, productive Life Experience for you are the attractor of your experience. Just you!

I have the Abraham book "Ask and it is given". While I do think it is a shallow application of Seth wisdom, this Abraham book gives some very practical exercises to help discern beliefs and access infinite energy.

Some people really understand things kinesthetically, by writing lists and affirmations and self-analyses, rather than by meditation or just expansion of consciousness.

So, to me, the Seth material is like the textbook, the total courseware, the operating system...
while the Abraham and Ramtha stuff (and similar) are more like Cliff Notes, workbooks, and CD-Rom review software

I do not disparage the tools one uses to awareness.

I also do not think that the Seth material reveals everything or comports the whole story, but certainly gives us much to meditate upon...

As far as 'disparaging'. Well, not everything is the same. I have tamely expressed a bit of my personal feeling about these others. That is permitted is it not? And I am not the Dalai Lama in any case. As far as disparaging goes, spend some time with Ramtha. You'll get a belly full I guarantee you!

RANDOM SETH QUOTE 2006 January 30
--------------------------------------
"The most rejuvenating idea of all, and the greatest step to any true illumination, is the realization that your exterior life springs from the invisible world of your reality through your conscious thoughts and beliefs, for then you realize the power of your individuality and identity. You are immediately presented with choices. You can no longer see yourself as a victim of circumstances. Yet the conscious mind arose precisely to open up choices, to free you from a one-road experience, to let you use your creativity to form diversified, varied comprehensions. Let us make a clear distinction here: Your conscious beliefs direct the flow of unconscious processes which bring your ideas into physical reality, so while your thoughts cause your experience, you are not consciously aware of how this takes place."

Re: ))) Random SETH Ruminations (((
I have a cool Seth Story for you. Around 7 years ago, because of a senseless murder that had happened in my family, I hit a mental wall.

I cried out to the universe, if there is anybody out there or in here, you need to speak up.

And Speak up it did.

Up until that point in my life, I would have considered myself agnostic, and much more leaning towards science than religion to find truth.

I always had a fascination with hypnosis & powers of the mind, I had read of a soldier who under anesthesia developed rope burns on his arms & feet. When the soldier awoke, the doctors asked him if he had any idea why they showed up. As it turns out, as a young boy, his parents used to tie him to the bed with rope to keep him from sleep walking.

It occurred to me that the mind had much more control over the physical than we had been led to believe. Over & over again, stories of miracle healing's, Stigmata, Etc.

I began to toy in my mind the idea of Thoughts Creating reality.

After I asked the Universe for answers, the first thing that was brought into my awareness was the Seth Material. At any point before that in my life, I just would have wrote off Jane Roberts as having a malfunctioning mind, but when I heard Seth's words "We create our own reality", I thought well how can I ignore this, I just came to this same conclusion myself, before ever hearing of the Seth Material. I went and bought Seth Speaks and it changed my life. I went on to read every book, and also bought some of the Cd's of Seth talking the Jane's ESP class.

Ok, Here is where this really get's strange. Because of the Seth material, I began to focus on creating the life I always wanted which was to be a musician. I quit my job of 14 years to give my dream a shot.

I had 6 months of unemployment, after around 4 Months, Nothing had happened, no magical doors had opened, nothing. But I had learned to pay attention to synchronicity and coincidence and I was convinced a higher power was in communication with me and if I only had the courage to face my fears, My Heaven on Earth awaited.

Then at that point in my life, I had the most incredible Vision in a very very lucid dream one night, In this vision a guide is leading me down a hallway that leads into a Concert club, when we get inside the club, I realize Steve Vai is preparing to do a show, Steve Vai was and still is one of my favorite musicians of all time. The club was totally empty, Steve is standing in front of the stage telling the sound guy how to EQ the guitars, I remember being Psyched, I was like cool, Vai!

The band starts playing this tune called "There's a train that's leaving", I remember the song hitting me as if it was the most spiritual song I had ever heard, Steve is singing and it seems as if he's almost floating above the floor and he comes right over to where me & the guide were standing, He get's right in front of me and the music stops and in this thunderous voice Steve says "WELCOME ABOARD"

And at that point I sat right up in my bed and instantly awoke, I was like "What the fuck was that about?" Chalked it up as one of the weirdest & most real dreams I had ever had and went back to sleep.

Around two or three days later, I make a Visit to Vai.com, I see this banner that says "Enter the Ibanez/Steve Vai/Tonos guitar challenge, well, the furr on the back of my neck went up, I knew I was going to win that contest before I even recorded a note, I had learned to pay attention to synchronicity and weird coincidences, because there is no such thing.

After the Vai contest Mp3 file had finished downloading, The contest was to record your own guitar parts over a stripped down Vai track, whatever on Steve felt was the most creative would win. I transferred the tracks to my ADAT/my home studio and as I was listening to Vai's backing tracks, it occurred to me that a guitar riff I had just wrote days earlier seems like it should fit well, I fired up my guitar amp and threw a microphone in front of the speaker, I just had to hear if my guitar part would fit over Vai's tracks! It fit perfectly! I was so inspired by what I heard, I thought, "I am going to record some solo's!" The solos were recorded on the 1st take, one pass through. To say this whole session seemed inspired would be an understatement, I listened back to the song, I thought to myself "Well, that's it!" I sent in my version of Vai's "Jibboom" for the contest the same night, at about 5:00 the same morning.

I have to say my heart sank when I learned that hundred's of guitarists had entered the contest, and you could even listen to all the entries online! It became clear how many great players were out there! I would consider myself lucky if I even placed as a runner-up. The entries were narrowed down to the top 10 and there it was! I made it into the top 10!

The entries were then narrowed down to the top 3, I could hardly bring myself to look and see if I had made it, I looked and to my surprise, there was my name again!

There was only one more step and that was the announcement of the grand prizewinner and that would be announced on March 15, 2001. Well, the 15th came and went and there was no announcement!

I decided I should call Tonos on the 17th and it was then that I found out I was the Grand Prize Winner!

As you can imagine, I could hardly contain myself, it worked out that I would be flown to meet Steve Vai at a G3 show on July 8th, 2001.

I arrived at the concert venue around 12:30 in the afternoon, I met Vai's tour manager and rhythm guitarist Dave Weiner shortly after. Dave told me Steve would not be there until around 6:00. Seemed like I had all day to just hang out! I have to say it felt a little strange and surreal being there all by myself.

The thought of meeting Steve Vai was strange to me. 1st of all, it was a trip to Vai's website that began a spiritual awakening for me (For Real) and now I was being flown to meet the man himself. 2nd of all, I had begun to understand that there were many different level of souls here on Earth and that there are some very advanced beings that are incarnate here as beacons of light to those still in darkness. I am still convinced to this day that Steve Vai is one of these beings.

I had full access to anywhere I wanted to go at the show except for the dressing rooms; the food catering room quickly became my favorite place Imagine my surprise as I was grabbing a sandwich to see Billy Sheehan, the world-renowned bass player and founder of one of my favorite bands Mr. Big, standing right next to me! Billy was playing bass for Steve Vai on this tour. I remember, thinking to myself, this is too cool!

As 6:00 grew closer & closer, I became more & more anxious. Shortly before 6:00, Dave Weiner let me know that Steve was in the house and that our meeting would be held in Vai's dressing room, Dave said he would come to get me as soon as Steve was ready. I began to just sit and meditate in an attempt to calm myself, 5 minutes or so had passed which seemed like an eternity when Dave came out and said "Well Michael, you ready?"

Dave walked me to Steve Vai's dressing room and when I entered I noticed Steve was not there yet. The dressing rooms size blew my mind. it was huge! It had a couch, with two Victorian style chairs at either end. I took a seat in one of these chairs. Since Dave and I were the only ones there at the moment, I took the opportunity to look around the room, there was a countertop that wrapped around the other three walls and this countertop was almost completely filled with lunch meats, breads, vegetables, and every type of cheese.

A couple of minutes had passed when Steve walked in the room, and right past me! He was talking on a cell phone and from his angle I don't think he could see I was in sitting in the chair right behind him. He continued talking for a minute or so and all I could think was Oh my God, That is Steve Vai!

When he was finished talking, Steve turned and seen me sitting in the chair, he said, "Michael, how are you?" Well, let me tell you, I thought I would be beyond nervous but he had a way about him that made me feel comfortable and at ease.

Steve walked over and sat down on the couch. We talked for 45 minutes or so! One thing that shocked me about Steve was how humble he was, after seeing him perform countless times and from his performance in the movie "Crossroads", I had constructed a mental image of Steve Vai as being somewhat cocky and arrogant, in a Sting (the singer, not the wrestler) kind of way. Nothing could have been further from the truth. Steve Vai was genuinely one of the nicest people I have ever met.

As a gift I had brought Steve Vai a copy of "Seth Speaks", I handed it to him and he looks me in the eye and said, "I have read every Seth book, I have spoken to Seth, I asked him questions and he answered me, But don't get wrapped up in the messenger, there is still something higher.

Rumination on how one deals with dis-ease --

One of the programs we all have embedded (through cultural bombardment) is that we "fight" disease -- cancer, the flu, colds, diabetes, obesity, whatever. I am vaguely disconcerted by the media's constant invocation of battling our bodies. Maybe the use of the word "fight" is integral to the problem of health.

When we "fight" something, we engage in an adversarial, black-white situation. But if illness is the body's way of talking to us when we're not paying attention. We shouldn't fight with it as much as we should dance with it -- learn how to listen to it and move gracefully with our body's environment.

All of the stuff that makes us sick inhabits our bodies and is thus part of them, so it's counterintuitive to say that the enemy is within -- it pitches body part against body part. Maybe the body parts need encouragement on how to get along. We should love ourselves and all our cells -- even (or especially) the ulcerous, cancerous, pussy, oxygen-deprived ones.

I'm proposing that we create a new lexicon about our physical conditions.
We do not battle or fight disease -- rather, we dance with disease, find the rythmn and language of our cells, listen to them, learn from them, and create new cells or repair existing cells, keeping in harmony, rythmn and balance.

Think about the visualization of battling a disease (under attack, armor, weaponry, death, vanquish) versus dancing with a disease (physical control, lightness, grace, rythmn, harmony, balance). Which do you prefer?

Our linguistic set creates our reality with every verbally conceived thought.

One of the greatest lessons of the Seth material is to learn how to create and control reality by developing a new lexicon and linguistic expression.

So... dance your way to wellness!

64455, very cool story -- and congratulations -- you must be an amazing guitar player!

Putting a powerful intent out into the world has an equally powerful outcome.
It certainly is part and parcel to all of the key stories of my life.
