I have 8 silver dollars from the 1920's because of an idiot just like him.
I went to the pakistani-owned convenience store in antioch, and while I waited in line, the teenager in front of me was buying cigarettes with the coins, and his girlfriend said "your dad will kill you when he finds out you stole his coin collection", and when I went to the counter, I asked for the coins for change, and he gave them to me saying they are only worth a dollar to him and he didn't care that they were silver.
These coins are worth at least $10 apiece, stoopid kid, stoopid paki.

I stopped an elderly woman from doing something like this. She asked if I would accept as payment some really old silver dollars that she had sitting around from her husband. (She acted like they might have expired!)

I told her that of course I would take them, but that she should go to a coin shop first.

Indian head pennies are worth around fifty cents to a few dollars apiece, all depends on the year and place minted and the condition (wear) of the coin, there are some very rare coins that are worth $200 each, but they're not pennies.

I have worked in convenient and grocery stores and people do this quite often. Young punks and bums come in with collectible coins and sometimes silver certificates. They are buying beer, cigs, and tobacco papers. It's sad because you know when you are taking those rare coins and bills, they are stolen. My son who is about turn 11 has a coin collection worth about 60 dollars face value, not sure what the coins are actually worth. His entire collection came out of grocery and convenient stores. Me and other family that worked in stores would buy the coins back out of the till for him.

When I lived in Antioch, the paki's at the store would save any old coin they got from their customers and sell them to me at face value because I was a long time customer of theirs, and I was their friend, I stopped there almost every day.

It's the simple pleasures that count....really....

I actually found a legit 1964 silver dime in my change about 2 weeks ago :D
