Right now on Coast to Coast AM with no name, they're talking to a guest about Mount Shasta (northern California 14,000 ft mountain) legends.

It's a really beautiful, mysterious place.

Amtrak's Coast Starlight train, which runs between Los Angeles and Seattle, goes by Mount Shasta at night in both directions. The train stops at Dunsmuir, CA. (pop. 2,500), which used to be an important railroad town for Southern Pacific on the Shasta Route. Then the train follows the Sacramento River north out of town briefly, before crossing the river, and windup up on a horseshoe curve to the volcanic plateau created by Mount Shasta. The train then runs through Mount Shasta city (pop. 3,000), and on across the volcanic plateau into southern Oregon. But even in the middle of the night you can see the massive massif, rising over 14,000 feet into the sky. It dominates the scenery for 2 hours as you go by on the train. Even when there's a new moon (no moon visible), you can see the snow-capped peak of Mount Shasta. Lots of native American legends about the mountain, as well as more recent (as in 100 to 150 years old) legends.

political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

ROFL!!!

We need to start up another "Gorgeous" George Snoory thread. Remember that one from a few years ago? I think it went to 2,000 pages? I'm not ashamed to admit that I'd look forward to coming home at the end of the day and reading (and adding to) the hilarious comments and photoshopped photos on that thread. Good God, that was funny stuff!!!!!
