You can have YOUR FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN FORGIVEN
If I read this right, the Obama administration will give FULL STUDENT LOAN FORGIVENESS to anyone who has made 10 years of payments.

dribble

The Student Loan Forgiveness Act of 2012

o The bill would create a new “10-10 standard” for student loan forgiveness.

If you make payments equal to 10% of your discretionary income for 10 years, your remaining federal student loan debt would be forgiven.

If you have already been making payments on your student loans, your repayment period would likely be shorter than 10 years. The amount you have already paid on your student loans over the past decade would be credited toward meeting the
requirement for forgiveness.

another dry fucking from this schnook
political correctness is a doctrine.... fostered by a delusional, illogical minority...... and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media; which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Re: You can have YOUR FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN FORGIVEN
This is fraud. FEDERAL LOAN FORGIVEN? MAYBE IF YOU DIE.

*READ THE FINE PRINT. And, as far as my case goes, I didn't even use the entire amount borrowed/ so where is the money I never obtained, but am still responsible for? The school takes the money, and whether or not you finish, they still have the money. If they returned the money, the situation would be a whole different scenario. However, the growing interest for late payments and the charges for late payments is like candy to a baby. They DO NOT GIVE A CRAP.
* KNOW YOUR RIGHTS: they cannot tell you what you are going to pay (it could be $400 a month, even if you are only making $700 from your job- they figure, you have it, and you can fork it over.) WRONG- as long as you send something, they cannot send you to collections. It will just be going towards the interest, but it keeps your ass out of collections, where every aspect of the loan increases with penalties and other hidden costs. You can actually find a company (Such as Allied Interstate, who will actually work with you and get all of you loans together.)
* DO NOT sign up with a disability agreement, even if you are missing limbs or are totally mentally disabled. Last year, at 32 years old, I was diagnosed with epilepsy and suffered two grand mal seizures that have rendered me to a wheelchair. When I was wrongfully terminated from a job that provided health care, I qualified for unemployment benefits. The way that the Obama administration is conducting the new unemployment system is atrocious. My broken hip rendered me disabled, so I cut my unemployment and receive State Disability. However, even if your disability heals, or you can do part time work, you are still responsible to pay back the money as soon as you get of SDI or SSDI payments and can return to work. Try to consolidate using another outside company, or just send the school 5 or ten bucks once a month. They have to take it, and they WILL.
* My biggest problem is that the current President hired some of the biggest crooks to be advisors to him and his staff. The Fannie Mae people and the rest of the bastards, who enjoy taking kickbacks while I cannot even afford decent healthcare and my taxes went sky high, DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOU. I have always filed, every year, and now i am paying money back that I do not even owe, nor can hardly spare.
* The key is to make contact with your lender. If you do not like the first person you talk to, be polite and say it isn;t a good time; call back until you get someone who cares. Make sure that you ask them how their day is going- be nice-ask about their weekend, the weather, and let them know that you are "living the dream". They will laugh. - but do not overstep you boundaries. It helps to make them laugh, and mention things like, "I hope you can help me, because I have not had any luck so far with any other customer reps, and you sound like you know what's up." Also, if you have to go on hold, tell them to take their time. I am not joking- it is important to get their name, write it down, and use it as much as possible, and praise them for the good work they are doing, even if it is shit.
* OBAMA- your last four years have truly left me in awe of how much worse healthcare and financial aid has gotten. You do not have my vote, and neither does Mitt. I pray that things will get better, but start by not being so obvious that you are in it for the kickbacks as much as any other bureaucratic jackass.

Oblahblah recreated the nation for the pleasure of lawyers to run rampant over everyone. They will take everything you have and put you on the street to die. Each and every one of you are simply in the way.

Re: You can have YOUR FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN FORGIVEN
There needs to be a general amnesty for student loans over 20 years old. When I was 18 I was duped into going to a technical school that forced me to get loans instead of grants. Of course I did not finish the school, I was 18, married, had a baby and life overwhelmed me to the point I could no longer go to school.

What started as $2000 in a loan is now $10,000 including penalties and interest. I have never paid a penny of it and I never will. It is principal. The school should give the money back for what it did to me. I was scammed and that debt is not something I believe I owe. I tried to work out a deal with the bank that loaned me the money, but they have no record of it and do not care. The collection agencies do care and they hound me fairly often.

I will not pay ever. No matter what. It is principal. I do not owe them for being scammed.

We need an general amnesty for loans that have not been paid on. 1987 was a long time ago. There has to be a way to get that debt done away with without paying because I would sooner die than pay them a cent. My son has went to school for 4 years now and has zero loans. He gets grants. They should have exhausted the grants before they forced me to get a loan. I went for 2 months and owe $10,000. That is not right. Old loans should be forgiven. Period.
