When, and if, all of Obummers new taxes kick in pink slips will be forthcoming in large numbers. Count on it.

Everyone is waiting for the pink slips at my job. We where sold out last year and new managers came in this year. Now we hardly have any work. Seems like the new managers have it all planned to shut us down.

If you read contemporary management journals or business mags like Fortune, Business Week, etc., they are always going on about "the challenge of finding and retaining talented workers" and how there is a mass shortage of talent, etc. Meanwhile with my own eyes I see countless good people fired, unemployed for a long time - people with talent, skills, and qualifications galore.

Why the massive disconnect? I can only conclude that the mainstream press and business academic establishment is being paid off to tout the "labor shortage" meme so they can continue to flood first-world countries with immigrant labor (both skilled and unskilled) as well as the outsourcing gravy train.

White House to contractors: Hold off on layoff warnings

The White House on Friday told government contractors worried about fiscal cliff spending cuts to hold off on warning employees about possible layoffs.

Defense contractors in particular have warned for months that the upcoming sequester would cost jobs in their industry. And Lockheed Martin's CEO has said publicly he may be forced to issue notice this fall of possible layoffs in 2013.

If other contractors follow suit, there could be a rash of layoff notices spooking employees right before Election Day
