Intelligent people who discuss the epidemic of obesity in this country recognize that it's NOT about vanity, as you seem to focus on in your post . . . it's about health.

This woman is young, far too young to have such a big weight problem, and she's just one of more and more young adults AND children who are grossly overweight. Look around at all the kids who are so fat they waddle, and usually they're stuffing high-calorie junk in their mouths as they waddle along, and USUALLY, mom and dad are also obese. It is incredibly unhealthy for children to be overweight because it can cause all kinds of problems early on and/or create far more as they get older. I bet many young children today will have all kinds of serious health problems by the time they all turn 30.

So no, overall, it's not about hate and judging people on their looks.

On the contrary...I am NOT talking about vanity. My very point is that you cannot judge someones HEALTH based on their weight. Outwardly "fat" people can be very healthy, and outwardly thin people can be extremely unhealthy. Those who do judge based on weight alone aren't as wise as they seem to think they are.

You have NO idea what she does or doesn't do. Being fat is NOT a choice for many people. One can eat well, eat slim portions, and exercise and still be overweight.

The email was succinct, factual, and was diplomatic ....but...

this anchor woman refuses to make the necessary changes that would

benefit her health and well being. Instead, she attempts to vilify the

man who is holding up a " mirror " and forcing her to acknowledge

her gluttony. FURTHERMORE, she attempts to divert the topic to another

problem entirely....bulimia. The fact that bulimia is a psychological

disorder manifested as anorexia ...is irrelevant to the issue of obesity.


The obesity crisis is fast becoming a threat to American national security,

and the next generation of young girls most certainly does not need to see

examples of this unhealthy behavior in role model positions.

It really does not take a great deal of unusual talent to write and

read the " news". So it IS important that these highly visible media positions

be filled by individuals who ARE articulate in their writing,

critical analysis , and speech ....AND WHO EXHIBIT EXCELLENT HEALTH-

SUPPORTING HABITS !!!

This is the case because our population demographic is rapidly aging.

Our population will be requiring dramatically increased medical support

for their cardiovascular disease , degenerative joint disease, Type 2 diabetes

mellitus, cancer, and dementia......and ALL OF THESE PATHOLOGIES

STEM LARGELY FROM OBESITY and POOR NUTRITION CHOICES !!!

WHERE WILL THE FINANCIAL RESOURCES TO CARE FOR THESE
