Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24598823 Since they got first use of all the counterfeit money, they probably stole half the wealth of the Germans through counterfeiting. No, go learn some history, The wermach republic went into hyperinflation due to money printing in order to pay back the bankers for the first world war. |

War is coming. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 24903444 Just look at what the cure for the great depression was. the Great Depression was a consequence of WWI - a rubber band effect of the joy and spending directly after the war catching up with an overspending economy - combined with severe drought that obliterated our heartland and crops. The United States was in a horribly compromised position when Pearl Harbor was bombed. We had already had a generation of young men wiped out in WWI. While it is true that the economy boomed due to some quick, successful strategic decisions and many of us believe - divine intervention - it was at a great cost: Over 406,000 deaths and over 670,000 wounded. It was also largely due to personal sacrifices from nearly every U.S. citizen. People rallied together to save milkweed pods for parachutes, save tinfoil balls for the military, they bought bonds and endured rations of their most basic supplies like sugar, butter, meat and bread. Things like candy bars and oranges were considered a rare treat in many communities. (Candy companies were making chocolate bars with Salt Peter in to send to servicemen overseas.) So...I wouldn't exactly call WWII a "cure" for the great depression. It was the kind of "cure" where they say they can save your life, but they have to amputate both your legs. That's very interesting to hear. Thanks. I was under the impression that WWII brought the US out of the depression by boosting the industrial sector with arms manufacturing and machinery, but I never looked at the WWI angle. Thanks again for the history lesson. I wish that video was around when I was in school, I would have shown it in class when they were teaching lies! |

Quoting: Kongored 19674390 However, Iran has the option of starting a gold backed currency to stave of inflation. Sure there will be turmoil but as a bonus, almost all debts will be payed off since the current currency will go worthless. Same goes for foreign debt. Plus Iran has oil, can barter it for everything from China. China is biggest importer of Iranian oil and produces all kind of stuff in the world. Worth to mention about India which pay Iran by gold for their oil. Russia supports Iran too. So not so fast with those sanctions, they are hard nut for international banksters. |

DL (OP) User ID: 1355544 United States 10/04/2012 05:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | A Hedge Funder Has A Very Interesting Explanation Of Why The Sanctions Are Now Crushing Iran Iraqi production has gone from a low of less than two million barrels of oil a day at the height of the war, to almost 3.4 million barrels a day this September. The Iraqis have a target of 4 million barrels a day by 2014, which – given the way things have gone in the last year – they are quite likely to meet and perhaps exceed. The increase of 1.5 m barrels/day that has already occurred neatly matches the decline of about 1.5 m barrels/a day that has occurred in Iranian exports over the last year. Since the West could always quietly abandon sanctions if things went badly wrong in Iraq, serious sanctions on Iran have gone from being impossible, to being almost costless, as a result of the success of the Iraqi reconstruction program. While the public narrative in American politics casts Iraq as South Vietnam and Iran as North Vietnam, making the Iranians the main beneficiaries of the war, in fact that scary old story has nothing at all to do with Iraq or Iran, and the actual outcome of the war, for the Iranians, has been disaster.
