Canadians are stupid for not rallying against high fuel costs. High fuel costs destroy the economy. Low fuel costs should be a major political issue. |

Quoting: Giftedest Relax their standards down to those of ALL THE REST OF THE COUNTRY, which aren't bad at all. Simple fix, wonder what the hold up is? maybe the Governor is thinking about expropriating all of the refineries in cali, and making their own gasoline. (they could buy the crude from chavez)? I think Venezuela is already your second or third largest importer. So stop with the smugness... |

Maybe that is the plan here. Drive out small farmers, businesses, close down small towns, jack up the proce of fuel, jack up the price of houses, land, property taxes and force everyone into large cities. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 23570095 Canada 10/06/2012 12:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The gas prices in the US are ridiculously cheap compared to the litre price of approx. 1,75€ Germany, let alone some European countries with even higher prices like the Netherlands or Norway. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 4865758 I have no clue whatsoever why you should panick due to such laughable prices per gallon in your country, which, by the way, literally controls the world's oil prices by its military might and it's epic financial fraud via a completely manipulated $ value. True. Why the panick? Besides, they can always print more $$$... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 19961452 United States 10/06/2012 01:33 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The difference in the UK is that we have our life style because of high prices and poor public transport. Quoting: lightchild_uk ... One of the things I cannot understand is why people in the USA commute so far, why don't you just move nearer your place of work? How much time do you spend commuting everyday? A 60 mile commute for me would take 2.5 hours with the traffic. People live where there is housing. There simply is not enough housing for all the people who work in a major city to live close by. Certainly there are people who used to move to the suburbs for a better quality of life, but now it is just that the suburbs are where there are places to live. Many people in the trades work at different locations, and in construction work particularly they certainly can face long commutes, but they can't live at the jobsite. Many of them carry the tools of their trade in those big pickup trucks so many people are fond of scorning. But face it, you just can't transport a couple of ladders and tool boxes in a subcompact. So these people are stuck paying a lot of money just to get to work. Public transport in a lot of areas is non-existent. There are a lot of people who burn gas needlessly, but OTOH, there are just as many whose travel is justified or necessary. That is who will be hurt most by the gas prices. |

Spoko Fuel, Spokane was $3.89. Another station nearby, $3.79. Northwest of Spokane at Two Rivers, Washington - unleaded regular was $4.19. Hunters, Washington it was $4.29. The farther north you go, the higher the prices. Of course, if you go south, there's Oregon and California - another story altogether. |

SevenThunders User ID: 15851599 United States 10/06/2012 03:02 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The gas shortage is entirely the cause of insane liberals. Oh CA how you so fully deserve this you dumbasses. Unfortunately the needless suffering will not bring the needed wisdom because it requires a basic understanding of the facts and a little bit of critical thinking. You see the libtards in Contra Costa county for years prevented Chevron from upgrading their old equipment in their Richmond plant, so that it would be more reliable and produce more product. They feared more product = more pollution. Not necessarily true of course, but libtards don't understand supply and demand. They think gasoline is cheap and abundant. Additionally the libtards, especially the libtard in chief, governor moonbeam, are unable to relax the ethanol standards a bit so that the more plentiful richer grade fuels can be used. The end result is that the Chevron plant had a fire that shut down production and this has cascaded into shortages. "For years, Chevron has wanted to upgrade its Richmond refinery - replacing old equipment, increasing the amount of gasoline it can produce and giving the plant more flexibility in processing different grades of crude oil. But those plans have been blocked by residents and environmentalists, who say the changes could increase air pollution from the plant. Although the Richmond City Council approved the renovation project in 2008, a Contra Costa County Superior Court judge later blocked it, saying Chevron's environmental impact report didn't answer key questions. Anonymous Coward User ID: 20006444 United States 10/06/2012 04:27 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | According to AAA web site there are no problems with gasoline supplies in Arizona - at least not yet. I would advise all in the area to keep your tank filled at all times. When you drop below 3/4ths full, stop and top it off. Won't take but a minute. You'll probably only buy 5 or 6 gallons at most. So at least it's cheap and quick. Saves the pain of seeing an $80 fill-up, too. And you'll know you have the maximum amount of fuel your car(s) can store on hand and available, should the availability worsen for some reason. Remember CA got hit without warning of any kind. Just suddenly "boom - and we're out of gas!!" |

I just calculated the real price we in england are paying for Diesel for instance. You dont read this on GLP because the conversion is not that simple, so most dont bother. september 2012 UK diesel price = 145ppl (pence per Litre) so thats £1.45 per litre. I converted the litres to US gallons and then converted the pounds sterling to US dollars, the result is $8.84 a gallon. Thats what we pay for diesel. have a nice day,. |
