That is beyond horrifying! I had no idea such an event was possible. If that guy is right, this whole sinkhole/GOM methane bubble just became a hell of a lot more disturbing!

Central Alabama here, you aren't entirely alone in knowing about this, however I will say, we are few and far between.

After all the tornados, people around here are very apathetic when it comes to warnings. Even so, with none of the MSM even mentioning it, kinda makes you wonder.

There are lots of people from Alabama on this forum so yes, some know but I don't know anybody who would have access to news about this locally where I live.

Can't confirm this but a commenter on one of Debora's articles says "The methane is actually leaking out of the aquifer....which actually makes the problem bigger than if it were only coming out of the sinkhole"

Well, if it didn't leak gas into your Florida Aquifer and only drifted downwind, if it didn't disperse fast enough it could be a methane cloud. To get a better idea of what the problem might be for those downwind.......

If you read Wikipedia on Limnic Eruption and read under the historic part especially mentioning Lake Nyos in 1986 you can read what usually harmless Carbon Dioxide (CO2) can do in a ground level cloud form to a village.
Now replace the usually harmless CO2 with an undetectable methane gas and you could have a huge Methane Limnic Eruption.

Lots of people never believed lake could kill, so what we are dealing with when it comes to billion of pounds of methane coming up at once, well.... lots of people, animals and plants will simply be suffocated. Of course that is if it doesn't explode or doesn't dissipate into the atmosphere fast enough.
