HEY OP... I got news for you dude this goes on in the US everyday.. Oh NOT the marriage part of course, but the having sex with young girls....everyday. I saw them give birth when I was in nursing school going through the labor and delivery at our University Medical Center...yep.. 11 yo girls right here in the good ole USA giving BIRTH...and the "fathers" not in jail. The average age for delivery was 14 !!!!!

So I suggest if you want to help young girls from abuse you just mosey on down to your local ob/gyn clinic and ask them what you can volunteer to do... unless you are strictly on here to bash muslims in foreign countries and not really complaining about young girls being abused. :)

The OP's comments about Mohammed and Aisha his child bride are correct. I only question as to weather there was any frolicking going on at that age. We do not know the exact facts of that. Maybe here is Mohammed and he marries a child bride, but only as a form of helping her. Maybe his reasons were honorable. If, as is said in this forum, that this is being used as an excuse for pedophile behaviour in today's Islam society, then that is people taking the Koran out of context. In all religions there are to be found various sects. Eg:- Christian - Methodist, Catholic, Protestant etc. In Islam you have Shiite and Sunni. Each of these sects have their own different interpretation of their Holy Book. I am sure you will find - if you do research - that the majority of Muslims are not of this thinking. I should know I live in a Muslim country but am not Muslim. I am European. I have lived here for nearly 7 years. As a result I have been able to study them and learn about their culture and beliefs. I have also witnessed on 2 occasions a suspected pedophile get lynched by the local community. It is a disgusting fact that there are child molesters in all societies and walks of life. We as caring individuals need to focus are attention on putting a stop to this worldwide and not get lost in all the Islam bashing that is going on as that will achieve nothing but a worse world to live in.
