Quoting: Anonymous Coward 5073178 Here is the ticket get both...by that I mean get a nice coil mattress and a "Topper" out of mem foam....find a place that cuts foam to size and get a 2 inch thick piece cut to fit...that's what I did if for some reason you don't like it...then you got the coil backup...fumes or sex...never had a problem with either good luck

But I replaced it with a coil mattress because the foam feels kind of hard after a few minutes. I like a super soft mattress and loose coils work great for me.

I would go with a pocketed coil mattress with visco memory foam. The memory foam is about two inches deep and is built right into the mattress, so you get the softness without the other complaints people have had. Smell, Heat. etc

I SWEAR by my SelectComfort - but I added a topper from Sams - I keep a lot of air in it and it really helps with the back pain. Wouldn't go any other way. (Topper can be thrown out and replaced)

We got memory foam about 2 months ago and I hate it... My hubby hates it too.. At the least our baby doesn't roll into our areas anymore but we wake up all sore... Don't get memory foam...
