Influenza, food poisoning, and allergic skin reactions

I am hearing about and seeing a lot of people I work with who are describing longs bouts with "food poisoning" in December and early January as well as severe allergic skin reaction along with what is thought to be the latest round of influenza.

Any other reports of these combinations? I am in Europe, but the people I work with have been away for several weeks in distant parts of the globe, and they have all returned with similar stories.
