i have a job as a driver for some mentally ill people....i take them from their group home to a drop in center and places like the pharmacy and doctor's offices....

i am posting this from the drop in center....

That makes for some interesting interaction I'm sure...good decent work! There are MANY areas where that service is needed desperately...more than normal cab service...

I can't help but think sometimes "where are these people's FAMILIES!" for help with the daily getting arounds...my area has a really extreme need for elderly assistance and no one to provide it for stuff just like that...doctor appts...banking etc.

If they don't have family they have to resort to doing without or hiring a service (which there aren't many around here)...makes the good old fashioned being neighborly thing a little more attractive...keeping kids local instead of spreading out families all over a country.

i didn't know what the organization was when i first applied for the job....only when they called me in for an interview did i find out

anyways, it is quite interesting as i do participate in the groups they have, such as Emotions Anonymous....

nice being able to go home at the end of the day though....makes one appreciate where they are and what they have
