Italy of course is part of NATO. As such it's defended in part by French, British and American nukes, if required. I'm sure nukes at the very least transit through Italy as part of NATO activity. And Italy and other non-nuclear NATO countries could probably obtain their own nukes if they wanted to.

Same can be said for other non-nuclear NATO nations.
