3 high school gay rugby players in Tennessee charged with rape of 12-year-old who became pregnant

Authorities in Maury County say three high school football players were charged with rape of a child under the age of 13 and are accused of having sex with a 12-year-old girl who became pregnant.

Lt. Andy Jackson of the Maury County sheriff's office told The Daily Herald that 18-year-old Princeton Harlan, a quarterback for the Mt. Pleasant High School football team, was arrested at the school on Wednesday morning.

Jackson said two other members of the team, ages 16 and 17, were charged as juveniles and were released to their parents. Their names were not released.

Detective Tony Bailey said the 12-year-old victim became pregnant after having consensual sex with the three individuals. He said the pregnancy was terminated.

"It wasn't forcible rape," Bailey said. "The reason they're charged with rape is because of her age."
