1st thanks for making this thread DESERT FOX are you back on the cigs?,stay strong to the ones that are in the process of quiting ,congrats to the ones that have fully given up and time to quit for the ones that havent.........ok so why i tell you my smoking history i will light up a ciggie.....my 1st ciggie was at 7 which i pinched from mum...cant remember smoking until 10 as a mates older brother gave me one then pinching them off mum and smoking with mates etc playing a game called drag the fag which each player had a a ciggie and you had to try and keep as much ash on the smoke as possible the player that loses gets a dead arm or multible......the other was roast the rooster/chook which involved two players putting there arms together palm side up and drop a lit ciggie and drop it in the center and the last person standing gets the smoke..anyways but id say when i was 12 and started high school thats when the ciggy buying happend and i would say then that was when i was smoking before school at the bus stops at school and after school so smoking .packets of twentys were $4:50-$6:00 roughly. the last packet i bought was yesturday i pack of 20s had to by from a bottleshop which are more pricey and they cost me 17 frigging bucks for the cheapest packet of smokes... prices are going up by 12% in septemeber...anyways to the point i have tried 4 or so times of giving up the ciggies tried patches ,e cigs, cold turkey being 10 days the longest but that was patches....i am giving up for the sole reason of to stop/help prevent any problems i may have in the future.been smoking 18 years to long , i have in the last 6 months or so getting heart/chest burn....the price of ciggies going up is not the reason for stopping and i would like to see the stats of people who actually gave up for that reason.........

i start after this pack and going cold turkey so ive got to lay off the drink as well for a bit so to stop any urges......get back into doing my hobbie to keep my mind off things and hopefully stay strong.

You can and will do it, laying off the booze is key. One day at a time, the add up quick!!
