Cuban Missile Crisis, take 2: BBC reveals secret Russian files
WOW>>>

In late November 1962, Cuba possessed 100 "Hiroshima-sized" nuclear weapons unbeknownst to the US government, which thought it had successfully defused a nuclear crisis there weeks earlier, according to a groundbreaking BBC investigation published today.

Castro got them from the Kremlin. Why? The Kremlin was worried that Castro's pride had been hurt when he wasn't consulted about deal terms related to Soviet missile bases in Cuba, part of Russian concessions to the US during the other earlier Cuban missile crisis -- the one everyone knows about.

Contrary to popular belief, the Cuban missile crisis did not end with the agreement between the US and Soviet Union in October, 1962. Unknown to the US at the time, there were 100 other nuclear weapons also in the hands of Cuba, sparking a frantic - and ingenious - Russian mission to recover them.

Old story told by Robert Mcnamara. Russian commanders with Kremlin authority to launch if they were attacked in Cuba. They knew.

So much for launch on warning. The Cold War was a whole series of lies told by the US govt like the 13 year war in Ganistan is today.

Thanks for the memories OP ,we were there stationed off Cuba on the blockade ,and we had first hand experience with nukes ,due to the fact we were setting targets for the tests in the south pacific ,and we were called off of that to go to Cuba , think we were scared -you bet - but not one chicken if you know what i mean .hfbump
