Because the U.S. military who developed all this tech in the first place with the U.S. tax dollar for post nuclear war communication was kind enough to share it free with the rest of the world, they will now have us all pay another tax on something we all already were taxed to develop! Make sense right? Because we shared the tech with the rest of the world free, we should be taxed on it now and trust the UN with the tax money because they know better than us all. We need to wake up not lie down and take it. Think about it, the people running the UN are obviously not rich enough yet and they never lie or fleece the people of the world. Just because the last Secretary-general of the UN plead guilty to political corruption and resigned after 8 years does not mean anything right? After all the UN is the savior of the world and the million dead in Rwanda need the internet now that the UN saved them right? Hate to tell you, the UK one of 5 with veto power in the UN. The UN is using the UK for their defense and your leaders do not veto it either. They will continue to use your military and ours at our tax payer expense. You are in the same spot as the U.S. and we both are not vetoing crap lately. We are letting the UN dictate how we use both our military for their sole benefit at our cost. But even if “we” who founded the UN pull out now it is too late, China, Russia and France will not pull out. France is making a killing and raking in money with the UN & China and Russia use it only for their benefit to cost you and I money making both our countries look bad in the processes. Freedom From War The United States Program for General and Complete Disarmament in a Peaceful World U.S. DEPARTMENT OF STATE DEPARTMENT OF STATE PUBLICATION 7277 Disarmament Series 5 Released September 1961 U.N. peace-keeping powers would be strengthened: Measures would be taken to develop and strengthen United Nations arrangements for arbitration, for the development of international law, and for the establishment in Stage II of a permanent U.N. Peace Force. An International Disarmament Organization would be established for effective verification of the disarmament program: Its functions would be expanded progressively as disarmament proceeds. It would certify to all states that agreed reductions have taken place and that retained forces and armaments do not exceed permitted levels. It would determine the transition from one stage to the next. There is no way Susan Rice will use her power as representative of the US to the security council to veto this. Her father ran the Federal Reserve and her mother is in charge of education policy at Brookings Institute, she was breed for this. Even though some of us see this for what it is, an attack on the sovereignty of every country in the world, the Security Council will not veto it. I'm only human, it's my biggest flaw. Article; The United Nations is considering a new Internet tax targeting the largest Web content providers, including Google, Facebook, Apple, and Netflix, that could cripple their ability to reach users in developing nations. The European proposal, offered for debate at a December meeting of a U.N. agency called the International Telecommunication Union, would amend an existing telecommunications treaty by imposing heavy costs on popular Web sites and their network providers for the privilege of serving non-U.S. users, according to newly leaked documents. The documents (No. 1 No. 2) punctuate warnings that the Obama administration and Republican members of Congress raised last week about how secret negotiations at the ITU over an international communications treaty could result in a radical re-engineering of the Internet ecosystem and allow governments to monitor or restrict their citizens' online activities. That's what started the American Revolution, people! No that was just one of the listed causes and not near the top of the list in the Declaration of Independence. Probably much more important was the refusal to let the Colonies coin their own money. I've always wondered about the "without representation". How much representation do you usually get anyway? Are taxes ever put up for revote by referendum, with the option that people can just end them all and start over? Taxation is always more or less without representation, it seems to me. |

Is this the next step after divide and conquer? Are TPTB just as hopeful to popular revolution as we are of doom? Is this motivated then by our natural response to sabotage our existence when things don't go as planned? |

Great find. Our greatest power over the United Nations is through funding this power hungry organization and of course, the United States spends the most on this organization. There is some glimmer of hope from the United Kingdom and the United States, at least the Congressional branch is fed up by the United Nations power grab. Glimmer of hope links: Republicans to Unveil Bill to Force Major Changes at the UN House Republicans introduced legislation today that seeks to force major changes at the United Nations, using as leverage the threat to withhold some of the U.S.’s 22 percent contribution to the world body’s operating budget. The bill by Ileana Ros-Lehtinen, the Republican chairwoman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, would demand that the UN let countries decide how much to pay and which programs they will support, rather than assessing payments based on a formula. It would end funding for Palestinian refugees, limit use of U.S. funds to only purposes outlined by Congress and put a hold on creating or expanding peacekeeping operations until management changes are made. [link to www.bloomberg.com] UK Pulls United Nations Funding In Move US Hopefully Will Follow Critics of U.S. spending on the United Nations got a huge boost—and supporters of that spending, especially the Obama Administration, took a body blow—from an unlikely source this week: the British government, long one of the U.N.’s staunchest supporters. In a sweeping and hard-nosed reorganization of priorities for its $10.6 billion multilateral foreign aid program, the Conservative-Liberal Democrat coalition government of Prime Minister David Cameron has pulled the financial plug entirely on four U.N. agencies at the end of next year, put three others judged merely “adequate” on notice that they could face the same fate unless they improve their performance “as a matter of absolute urgency;” and issued pointed criticisms of almost all the rest. [link to patdollard.com] Republicans Advance Bill Targeting US Funding for UN: ‘What Are We Paying For?’ A U.S. House committee Thursday approved a bill linking U.S. contributions to the United Nations to significant financial and other reforms, one day after Secretary of State Hillary Clinton warned she would recommend that President Obama veto the measure if it reaches his desk. Deeply divided along party lines, the House Foreign Relations Committee voted 23-15 for the U.N. Transparency, Accountability, and Reform Act (H.R. 2829), whose most radical provision aims to force the U.N. to change its funding mechanism from the current system of “assessed” contributions to voluntary ones. It's a usage for the whole world and has been improved/upgraded/whatever by them. Make of that statement whatever you will. As for fees; it's going to eventually happen, UN or not. The only question is, is who's eventually going to collect the fee? This should be the discussion. It needs to get sorted before someone take control/fees that we don't want to. |
