the north only consists of a few northeastern states with high minority populations that nobody wants to live in anymore, they couldnt even feed themselves without the south.

We would be richer and have a much higher standard of living without the South. What would happen though, is that the South would depopulate as they fled north. It would be impossible to prevent that happening.
But it would probably still be better than what we have now since they wouldn't have such outsized political representation.
